Hey fellow steamers !!!! Haven’t been on here for a year or two ! Going on the Allure of the sea , march 5 . Anyone know about there layout ?

Allure of the sea has only a coed paid area

    that has not window's

There's  not separate  free area like on older ships for a men's sauna  / steam room

All oasis class ships ans newer are like this on Royal  now unfortunately

Anyone with firsthand experience in the NCL Epic men's Thermal Suite?  I have read the database document and it appears it does have single-sex sauna and steam.  In practice, how good is the set-up?  Good for relaxation?  I love the Thermal Suites on the Jewell class NCL ships.  Excellent layout.  Now looking to expand my horizons onto other NCL vessels that offer non-coed options.  Any input from personal experience on the Epic would be appreciated.

Yes I've  used  it many times

U can buy a daily pass or whole duration of the cruise pass

    Which is better  value

Its about $40 for 1 day

The changing room has a sauna in it  & steam room

The thermal suite outside is shared  facilities

    Theres no free area's

I hope Royal begins to open their facilities, but probably not until after January...

How was the ship other than that? I'll be on the Jewel in December.

We had a great cruise.  Our first since pandemic.

Jewel  is beginning to show her age

But still good . The price & itinerary  was excellent.

Windjammer was  v busy at times

You can't  pick anything up yourself

Think it will be v difficult if they raise  capacity

    Hi

i just glanced back the last few pages but still not sure where things stand. Can someone update me on RC. Are explorer and Indy the only ones from those classes that still have the original steam sauna layout? If there are others are they schedule for dry dock this year for the refit ? Thanks in advance

    Hi

Can only speak from my own experience from  recent sailing and reading about refits

Just off NCL Dawn. The ship is a different class than the "Pearl" style ships. Recently tastefully remodeled Thermal Suite is a more compact design and is in the back of the ship below the gym. There is a co-ed middle section and seperate men/women only sections. No lockers, showers or free saunas are available to gym users, only those purchasing the Thermal Suite package. On the men's only side - VERY clean, well stocked with towels and robes - plenty of lockers with the 4 number lock design - a prep area with hair dryers - and another area with sinks, 3 urinals and a toilet. Everything was in excellent shape. The sauna is "L" shaped, with two seating levels - about 8 guys max. The steam room is a "J" shape, with tiled seating areas, part one level, part two levels. Again 8 would fill the space. Both have some privacy. There are three compact showers with full opaque glass doors with a wood seating area along one side. Across are a single person cold plunge and a hot tub (no jets). No windows to the outside except in the co-ed part. Given the limited space available, overall very good design! This cruise was very port intensive, so really quiet until 5 pm or after. Majority wore towels or nothing. Some suits were thrown in to balance it out. Enjoyable cruise!

    Thanks for the info
