  1. Thanks for the update, waiting for you all to arrive the port of Yokohama. It’s been wonderful here for the last five days, weather, food, people. Boarding today with little to no expectations for this cruise which is sad given I’ve sailed HAL since I was a small child. Interesting that they are cancelling a port three days from now due to the weather which seems to change here daily.
  2. Heard she’s not leaving, any cancelled crossings?
  3. Friends off Celebrity shared that they faded the same issues
  4. So Carnival Corp purchased HAL in 1989, so now they finally decide to cut back services? You realize most of these cruise lines would be gone if they weren’t purchased.
  5. Hank, thanks for this thread. Do you know the bar hours for the Crows Nest? Open pre dinner?
  6. Reminds me of my one and only Oceania cruise when the ship had zero entertainment and we asked if there was a disco and the CD handed us an iPad and said to plug it in. We did and the lounge was packed. I’m sailing the transpacific and look to have some fun after 10:45!
  7. I’m joining Westerdam as well on the 24th, see you all on board!
  8. I am sailing Yokohama to Seattle, same self administered test required. I am just bringing a few boxes of tests from my local CVS and will take a photo of the test to board. I have already cleared Japan entry requirements via their website by uploading my vaccine documentation. Should be easy.
  9. Looking forward to your reports, joining Westerdam on April 24th
  10. Fridge magnet, mine works and has the sailing date on it
  11. Had this on the premier package but it was not offered yet on board. The classes and premium desert were useless on last weeks sailing
  12. Just off the Discovery Princess sailing with over 4000 passengers. Ships was nice but looking forward to a better over all experience on my next cruise on the Westerdam. The Princess ship was so over crowded, the main pool area was extremely loud with a DJ most times, food was better in the main dining room than many of the alternative restaurants, cabin was fine for a solo but small bathroom and verandah. Crew was overwhelmed but tried and were nice. Ship also ran out of many items and had no ship specific product in the shops. Tendering in Cabo took hours, just over two hours waiting for a tender. Overall a throw away cruise to Mexico, I would be hesitant to sail this class of ship for a special or expensive cruise.
  13. Casual means pool or workout wear? Then I am certainly on the wrong ship
  14. I have the full cruise pass. It’s small, but very nice. It’s packed though. It’s difficult to get a lounge, people are just putting their belongings on the floor and using the space
  15. Because I make an effort to look nice to sail in a nice ship, i really don’t want to be around people in tank tops and baseball hats in a nice restaurant. If you can’t put on jeans and a shirt for a dinner and your kids can’t survive 90 min without everyone hearing their cartoons on an iPad, maybe just eat at the buffet.
  16. Because I make an effort to look nice to sail in a nice ship, i really don’t want to be around people in tank tops and baseball hats in a nice restaurant. Stay at the Olive Garden for that.
  17. Walked out of the crown grill, getting a pizza. Beautiful ship, but overall a disappointment. How has Princess fallen so far…. I feel bad for the crew, they are great but passengers…..ugh
  18. Crown grill, such a disappointment. My lobster was fishy, salad was blah and everyone around me is in tee shirts and crocs.
  19. Formal night in Crown Grill, shorts, tee shirts and flip flops. It’s been a while since I sailed Princess, but what has happened to this cruise line??
