  1. Not only does everyone in the cabin need to pay for the Key, but I also thought there was a minimum age requirement, but I could be wrong. I could swear I looked into it once and we weren’t eligible due to my daughter’s age. But again I could be wrong or maybe that changed.
  2. Also a huge fan of the cheap over the door shoe holder. Sounds stupid, but it’s a game changer when u have 2 kids and 2 adults worth of shoes spread all over the floor.
  3. I got something similar off Amazon and couldn’t be happier. But I use mine all day, not just in the evenings 😁.
  4. For our cruise this past January I sent in a request 10 days out. Usually I do it 2 weeks out, but I forgot. Received two responses within probably 3-4 days of my email. First the auto response and then an actual response a couple days later saying they had fulfilled my request. As stated above, make sure you put your sailing date and ship name in the subject line.
  5. Thank you for the response, we’ll plan to arrive around 10:30.
  6. At Port of Miami, does anyone know if you can park at one garage, even though you are departing from a different terminal? For example, I’m thinking of parking at lot B, then walking over to terminal A which is where our ship will depart. It appears that the cost per night to park at lot A is a lot higher than the cost to park at any other lot. Also, can you reserve parking ahead of time at any of the parking lots other than lot A? I’m nervous about parking availability over Spring Break. TIA
  7. Yep, I remember it happening with Symphony. If I remember correctly they moved the inaugural cruise up a few weeks.
  8. I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly all the restrooms in the kids club area are gender neutral. Enjoy your cruise!
  9. Yes. We were at Port Everglades last month. They did not check our embarkation time. We arrived at 11am even though some in our party had 1pm arrival times. We were on the ship about 15min after we arrive to the port.
  10. We were on the Symphony last month. Both the promenade cafe and vitality cafe menu listed cold brew however it was unavailable at the promenade cafe the entire cruise. Not sure why they couldn’t take ingredients from vitality and bring them to the promenade. Moral of the story is if it’s not at the promenade, check vitality.
  11. We were at Port Everglades two week ago. We had no issues embarking earlier than our scheduled time.
  12. We were on the Symphony last week. We had a group of 9 and tried three specialty restaurants. Jamie’s was our favorite, especially for the price compared to the others. Followed by Izumi’s (we did the regular menu, not hibachi) then Wonderland. We’ve done wonderland on multiple ships and just didn’t think the service/experience this time was a great as our previous visits. Have a great trip!
  13. Yes. Kids can order off the main menu or the kids menu. I don’t know if there is an age for the kids menu. I know some adults that order off the kids menu. We were on Harmony last week. My 12 yr old nephew ate entirely off the main menu while my 5 and 7 year old mixed and matched between the two menus. I only glanced quickly into the 9-12 yr old area, but I do think the video game set up is similar to the 6-8 yr old area. I don’t think here is an activity guide for the kids club. Last week I asked for a schedule of activities, just so that I could make sure my kids were at the club during the activities they would enjoy most. The only thing available was a generic list of activities that the adventure ocean staff was able to show me quickly during registration.
  14. My kids love searching for ducks and I am appreciative of the generous folks that leave them. Last week my kids found three. They enjoyed playing with them in the stateroom shower and at the beach and we just unpacked and tossed them in our bath tub. I’m pretty sure if Royal had an issue with the ducks they would get rid of the multiple claw machines in the arcade that are filled with rubber ducks as prizes . There were three rubber duck filled claw machines on Symphony last week. And for what it’s worth, I’ve never seen a crew member throw them away, the kids find them too quickly.
  15. I’m hoping everything is okay with Jordan. I’ve watched some of her blogs and I don’t think she would have left unless it was an absolutely necessary. Especially since her boyfriend is also onboard. Perhaps she’ll be back before the end of your cruise.
  16. We did a short cruise on the Indy last March. I’ll never say never, but I will definitely think twice about a short cruise in March again. We have two elementary aged kids so the young kids didn’t bother us, it was the young adults. The ship was full of college spring breakers and bachelor/bachlorette parties. My kids witnessed some questionable stuff 🤣. I’m all for having a great time, but it was a little too much of a party atmosphere for our young family.
  17. Thank you for posting the menus! We sail in January, and while I can see most of the menus in the app, two of the nights only list the kids menu 😁.
  18. Hmm, we don’t need the cooler, but that’s not a bad deal if you are able to swap for another domestic beer. Bud Lite is not our favorite either.
  19. I asked our room steward on the Harmony last spring to put away the sofa bed in the morning. We chose evening service. He said no.
  20. As others have said, getting port fees refunded is not guaranteed. And if you do get a refund, the amount is minimal. Last time we missed a port I believe we got a refund of $8 per person.
  21. When we were on Harmony and had 4 in our room (2 adults, 2 kids), I asked the steward about putting away the couch for us in the morning (we chose evening service) and he straight up said no. He was happy to bring extra towels during morning service if needed but putting away the bed was considered a second service. We slide the bed back to a couch ourselves each morning and folded up the blankets and threw them on top. I’m hoping this has changed since our cruise, it was back in April when the reduction in service was still fairly new and I think different stewards were following different rules. We had a neighborhood balcony, not sure if the room type makes a difference. But wanted to let you know that this service may not be a guarantee depending on your steward.
  22. Keep in mind that there isn’t really a sheet set for the Pullout. They just put a regular flat sheet tucked over the couch cushions and then place a comforter, folded in half the long way, on top. We would leave the flat sheets in place, fold up the comforters, place them with the pillows on the couch then push the Pullout back under the couch. We didn’t mind sitting on the flat sheet on top of the couch cushions during the day. They do leave the comforter plastic bags under the beds, so you could place the comforters in those during the day if you’d like. We either just left them folded on the couch or put them on the bed if we wanted to sit on the couch. Also, just wanted to clarify that the pullout we had isn’t like pullouts your may be familiar with. The pullout part was at the base of the couch, not under the couch cushions. We did ask the room steward if they would put the Pullout away each day since I thought that was the protocol for rooms with 3 or more guests, but he said no.
  23. On Harmony last month they only stopped by once. We chose evening service which I think was the better option for us. It was pretty easy to push the Pullman back into a sofa for the day and was nice to have it made up for the evening. There was also less chance of us disturbing the steward when he was making up the cabin when he came in the evening compared to the morning since in the morning we often go back to the room.
  24. How old is the toddler? Would you feel comfortable with a booster seat as opposed to a car seat? Booster seats are much easier to pack/carry/store.
