1. Has anyone else noticed that it now takes way more cruises to move up a level in Celebrity since they introduced new regulations last Fall? We were on our way to moving up a level in 3 cruises. We had booked 4 new cruises to enjoy being elite on the 4th. Then we were hit with the new Captain's Club regulations. We estimate it will take another 8 - 10 cruises to move up instead of 3. We couldn't cancel our April & May cruises this year but we will cancel our two 2015 cruises and won't sail Celebrity again. We feel they really have treated their existing members badly. They should have instigated changed regulations for new members and left the old levels in place for their existing members. They are not the only cruiseline in the water and we will choose Princess from now on.
Thanks for letting us know your feelings. Enjoy your future cruises.
2. "The rules have changed" does that mean I can wrap my [...] frame into a robe and go to the Buffet?

LOL

Sure. You can even go to the MDR.

On formal night.

I've seen it.

3. I'm considering Murano Restaurant for the evening of the second formal night, but wonder if that's a bit daft ...

Is the food on formal nights better than on normal MDR nights?

Many people think so, but I disagree.

Murano would be a great choice for formal night.

4. Okay, OP, let's say you're running X. You lay down the law: "Bust a gut from day one" to impress cruisers who've tried other lines, and it works: they book with you again.

Then they come back again, and see you "busting a gut" for another batch of first-timers, while they feel taken for granted. What then?

5. I got the newest Captain's Club newsletter in the mail. I noticed in the chart that shows how many points are awarded for a night in the various cabin categories, they put decimal points and tenths digits on all the numbers.

I wonder if this means fractional points will someday be awarded? (Onboard spending?)

6.
Is there a US government agency similar to TSA that prepares or oversees these lists of prohibited items or do individual cruise lines prepare their own? I notice that Carnival allows both knives and scissors with blades under 4", while Celebrity allows only scissors. Perhaps the cruise lines should develop a consistent, industry-wide standard for passengers.
I don't see the need for this. Every line should be free to set their own standards. (As long as they post them so potential passengers can make informed decisions.)
7. I would like the ability to "ignore" an entire thread, not just a single CC member. Some threads are so ridiculous or confrontational that I'd like it to not even be visible to me.
Yes! This would be amazing!

Better yet, an ability to filter them from the page before I even see them. Imagine a board where you could choose to never see another "Can I watch Big Sports Event on my cruise?" thread.

8. There have always been top cruisers who chose to decline the spotlight. I'm looking at a certificate on our wall right now that we received only because someone else didn't want to stand up at the Captain's Club party.

Rest assured, these folks are not being forced on stage at bayonet point. ;)
