The "limited time" probably expires just before we cruise Azamara in February. :(You don't have to wait and see:). This is copied from the updated Celebrity site:Azamara Club Cruises Note: For a limited time, guests who sail on Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club cruises will earn Club Points toward their memberships in both Captain's Club and Le Club Voyage, regardless of which brand they sail. Both Captain's Club and Le Club Voyage members will enjoy the benefits of their tier levels on both lines. Program terms are subject to change.

Perhaps you should have kept searching.I remember that on our last cruise we searched for the elite breakfast on debarkation day but found the location to be reserved for B2B passengers, -
I guess they had 9.866666666666666666... cruises in their history. No one was given points to make them Elite just a bonus to put them in position to make Elite with one more cruise.I am curious as to how you ended up with 296 points as the conversion was by multiples of ten?
-
It's never going to end as it is.While benefits are nice and I might not turn them down, it really does make sense for the reciprocity to stop and D or Elite. Seems that should be something held back for those loyal to the particular brand. It will also shut up certain Elites from dissing the RCCL Diamond/D+/P reciprocal “Elites”. If those D+/P became E+ or Zenith, the whining would never end. -
(Oops, 1st reply made my point.)
-
I think everybody should have gotten the same number of bonus points.

I do like it if the bar waiters know who I am. :cool:I'm with you, I'm also riff raff and could care less if crew or officers know who I am or how many cruises I've been on, just want to continue to get the excellent service I've alwys gotten on Celebrity. -
I can view my history perfectly (no flashing) in Firefox 25.0.1. :)

Sounds like a business plan. Get a loan; buy some ships; start your own line. Maybe you'll get rich! :DSo what would I like to see :DNo cruise director , no amplified music , natural instruments , and voice , varied music in a number of smaller intimate venues on ship that carry about 400 passengers on long sea voyages , liners rather than cruise ships , no specialty dining just a traditional dining room and Lido Cafe providing quality food , a good libarary and a nice card room , totally no smoking ship , no balcony cabins but two complete veranda / promenade decks , a bridge that you can visit on request lots of teak decks and polished brass ..shuffleboard , scrabble rather than bingo , if you want to gamble there is the ships tote rather than a garish casino a couple of smallish cinemas when you can select a film to watch IE gold class type that serve drinks and snacks whilst the film is on and no kids under the age of 18 y/o
My suggested Route is Lisbon To Rio de Janeiro calling at Funchal and return on a regular service operated by four ships of approx 20,000 Tons
Oh dear .. one can dream
Regards

Yes. Several posters wanted Elites "culled" because there are so many. This is just silly. Do you really think that people are wishing that others don't become Elite and were striving to make it more difficult? -
False. There was a credit offered of amount greater than what you paid. Maybe you didn't cruise in time to use it, but it was offered. How was I cheated?Let's see first, the program didn't used to be free you had to pay to join and when the switched to free there was no consideration given to those of us who had paid.
-
I hope the specialty dining savings for E+ level applies to packages.
-
Not if you book Penthouse suites. :DIt will take much longer to reach each level with the new system.(Which we don't, so don't accuse me of gloating.)
-
Even in a worst-case scenario, can anyone honestly imagine RCL corporation stiffing people on fares paid to Azamara? (Unless the whole company folds its tents, in which case there will probably be bigger problems to deal with.)
-
Not as hard or as much as some others with more points.Worked harder, spent more than someone with 270 points. -
So what would you recommend? Kick a bunch of folks out?Unfortunately, is does nothing to resolve the issue of SO many elites. There were 1200 on my TA a couple of weeks ago!!! It was a hideous bun fight and no one could use half the benefits as everywhere was just swamped all the time. :-( -
Well, I guess I'll have to believe you since you use more capital letters than they did.Rose Colored Glasses. :cool:I'm pulling for them but it's not happening, just stating a fact.
It's a simple 30 to 1 coversion ratio, ONLY. NO ADDITION Bonus Points are awarded with the conversion.
-
Several posters have reported being given bonuses over & above the 30 to 1.Only a unfounded rumor. There are NO BONUS points in the conversion, only a very SIMPLE Conversion of 30 to 1 from your previously earned points.

There's a saying about squeaky wheels and grease that often holds true. It's just my opinion...perhaps Celebrity will help you. -
Works a little differently for us. Applying this new system to our past cruises adds up to 789 points. We're at 1200 today. It looks like this change will significantly slow the growth of higher tiers.Assuming the points are per night, I went back and recalculated our history. We had 10 credits, 63 nights, mostly inside cabins but one 7 night AQ and one 12 night 2C.
Using the new system on my cruise history, I would have 157 points now instead of the 300 points I have with the 10 credit conversion.
So for our sailing pattern, the new program is a 50% reduction in the speed of advancement...
-
There has to be more to earning points than this. The 7-night we sailed in concierge class last year netted us 60 points, and the next one nets us 5?
-
We're officially Elite Plus with 1200 points. Last week we had 40. :)
Seems like we have data to work with.
-
I get this too. :(Mine is showing:Your status:
Status not available. Please check again later.:confused::confused:

So if everyone who's one cruise away from a new level deserves to be grandfathered, why not the people two cruises away? Three? Four? Seven?I totally agree with you...to lower the status of anyone is definitely a situation that implies that it is okay to change the rules and make some people wait for another cruise. I do not think that Celebrity would do that!:eek:Again, these are still only theories and speculation at this point. Change is the currency of life!

I think Celebrity should let people count their future cruises by the old rules if they prefer. But the cruisers who choose the old rules have to agree to cap their level at Elite.
New rules or old, take your pick. But be consistent!
