  1. Tonight we returned to our cabin to these lovely swans and Toblerone chocolates.
  2. Our room steward had another talk with them today and he advised that they are not keeping their balcony door open. The past 5 days have been very cold and windy. Remember we are just above the Antarctic Circle, currently traversing the Straits of Magellan
  3. Danny is fantastic! He is one of the best guitarist/vocalist we have seen on a cruise ship. He has been playing in the Wheelhouse most nights. He sat with us during his break last night, very interesting background.
  4. Traversing the Straits of Magellan, seas have calmed and the sun has come out.
  5. Btw, I misspelled Punta Arenas, it is two separate words. I confused it with Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
  6. It's official, the Captain just canceled our stop in Puntarenas due to the weather. As soon as we board some new crew members that are waiting on the dock we will leave. We will head out early for our viewing of the Amalia Glacier tomorrow. Btw, just before dark last night we cruised by the 5 glaciers in Glacier Alley, spectacular! The Chilean Fjords are beautiful.
  7. We had that conversation with our room steward a couple of days ago. We will revisit the topic with him today. Luckily for us, our neighbors disembark this coming Saturday. We stay on for an additional 18 days.
  8. Currently on the Sapphire the Chef's Table is $100 pp. The DRO told us they are doing 3 of them on this 14 day sailing and have 70 passengers on the waiting list
  9. We are currently onboard the Sapphire and I want to throw our neighbor overboard! Just kidding, but I'm not happy. This morning at 5:00 am our neighbors let their cabin door slam not once, not twice, but three times in a matter of 10 minutes. We are always very careful to hold onto the cabin door and carefully (and quietly) close it. We have heard our neighbors door slam during the day, which is also very annoying, but come on at 5 am! Funny, as I'm writing this their door slammed again (it's now 8:30 am). I have spoken to prior door slamming neighbors in the past with not so positive results. Ok, I feel better. Thank you for letting me rant. 🙂
  10. We are now anchored in Puntarenas (Chile) and the weather looks ominous. The Captain just announced that the swells are too rough for tendering and he will reevaluate the situation as the day progresses. We are scheduled to stay anchored until 7:30 pm.
  11. We had a fantastic day today in Ushuaia! The weather was perfect, sunny and no wind! We went to the supermarket (at the far end of town) bought potato chips and two more really nice Malbecs. After shopping for a couple of t-shirts for our granddaughter, we returned to the same restaurant where we had lunch back in 2011. It did not disappoint. We had langostino empanadas for an appetizer and then shared a mixed seafood platter of sardines, mussels, scallops, octopus, shrimp, and calamari. Half were fried and the other half were grilled. And of course we shared a bottle of Malbec!
  12. Our balcony view of Ushuaia. A bit chilly, but no wind. Hopefully, it stays this way!
  13. While killing some time before going ashore in Ushuaia, I ran a speed test from the "End of the World." I must say the wifi has been very good this entire trip, so far.
  14. On the Sapphire they have had a different sorbet on the MDR menu every night.
  15. I received an email request to post the FCD amounts of OBC. Here you go...
  16. Tonight they are having an Academy Awards viewing party in Club Fusion and also showing on the stateroom TV's. @suekel We hope this does not affect your MP flight. 🤞
  17. Yes, we did at around 7 pm. Weather and seas were not bad then. Later tonight we are supposed to get winds of 40 to 50 kts. Yikes!
  18. Wine Alert!!! The ship has run out of Spellbound Petite Syrah and Malbec! Incredible!
  19. @vickie_bernie Posted the below photo on FB of the dessert cakes she found at the IC.
