Regent Grandeur Now a Regent Ship
dabear replied to DeepFreeze63's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Sounds like a great problem! -
Same problem as others are experiencing. we got a quote from our TA one week ago. Got email about black Friday sale. Called A & got a quote $200 higher and told Black Friday sale did not apply to this cruise. Although we like A , after having to pay a cancellation penalty due to medical problem last year before the 120 day penalty period & now this experience, I am starting to waiver with this line, especially since we don't know how strong & supportive new ownership is.

Voyager disembarkment in Rome (Civitavecchia)
dabear replied to DatawCruiser's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
I think it was called Rome Cabs. We rented a 6 or 8 pax van & 3 couples split it. They were waiting for us at the dock & were quite efficient. I think here was another company we had also used before that called like Romeinlimo and it also was fine. -

Agree, quite easily. We took a private transfer I think about 8:30 & were at the airport in less than an hour. -
GeorgiaPeach Sails the Oceania Marina

I thought sailing in or out of Malta harbor was interesting; almost all walled for protection from invaders. -
Enjoy the sun & the cruise.

It's also November & not particularly a great sunning month.

Just to confirm, are totes only for concierge level & above suites ?

Well, almost. We can find it by scrolling down but not by search clicking by month. Thanks -
Dec 14, 2023 Grandeur Roll Call Missing?
dabear replied to dabear's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
wrong. I've search both ways & nothing found. -
Here yesterday, gone today! What happened to our roll call? BTW, we received our luggage tags in the mail today.

We stayed at the Royal Orchard 25 years ago when it was on Conde Nast Travel 's top lists. Agree, there are a lot more deluxe hotels there now.
-
I sometimes play trivia. See you onboard!

It's a date!

Already on roll call & you must of forgot that we've communicated with each other for months.
-
So will we !

I've also used Travel Guard and had no problem getting fully reimbursed for dw's hotel doctor & trip to a hospital in Israel . Only thing not covered was for the taxi because I didn't' have receipts.

Years ago I dove with Stuart Cove dive shop which was on the opposite side of the island. We did a shark feeding dive. I'm not sure that they still are in business or if they have a snorkel dive with sharks, but you could research.

FYI, we did a 2 night post cruise to Anghor Wat just before the covid crisis. . Really amazing. Don't miss it.

I won't repeat what Rallydave correctly said about contract law. I am surprised how Sunprince has incorrectly interpreted Rallydave, cwn & my comments on the law of contracts. We are not "happy" of the outcome, but merely correcting previous posters incorrect analysis & comments. BTW, if you read one of my previous comments, I have been in the exact situation when we were on a cruise with 3 nights of stops in Israel & was cancelled at the last minute for GREEK ISLANDS AS A SUBSTITUTE. WE WERE NOT HAPPY BUT UNDERSTOOD OUR LIMITED RIGHTS & CONSEQUENSES.
-
Agree, but such grounds do not apply here.
-
You're wrong. I am an attorney. Advertising does not create a contract. The words of an agreement create a contract. If one party reserves the right to change an itinerary & the other party agrees to it that's a binding contract. It may not be good marketing , but a contract is a contract.

This same thing happened to us a few years back when we signed up for a cruise on Celebrity that included 3 nights in Israel. We booked overnight excursions, tours etc. Right before our departure , an uprising occurred in Israel . We debated about cancelling but no word even from X. We proceeded & while on the ship Israel was cancelled & the Greek Islands were substituted. We had been there before & were not happy. A lot of negative posts were on CC. As previously said, the cruise line has the right to change itinerary. The bottom line, Celebrity is still in business. We also had a cruise once that departed from Istanbul. Fortunately we flew in 3 days earlier to tour . Low & behold, Turkey had an unrest & the ship left 2 days earlier, causing many passengers to scramble to embark at a different port. I don't recall any benefits etc provided for these changes.Really, it's just unfortunate situations that experienced cruisers should recognize can happen. If no bonus or compensation was given to unhappy pax, that's just the big cruise business today. We may not like it, but especially after covid, etc, that's the cruise business today

Totally agree. First this horrific event just happened a few days ago. Everyone is scrambling to make last minute changes as best they can for safety sake. All experienced cruisers know that all cruise lines have the right to make changes, including last minute ones, to an itinerary. Let's recognize the situation & have patience and a little sympathy for what's happening in Israel.
