  1. It would appear that the months of Jan, Feb and March are simply inside their blackout periods, hence no availability: Not valid with any other offers or discounts, during holidays, special events, 1/4-3/31/24, 4/5-4/6, 4/12, 4/19-4/20, 7/1-7/6, 7/14-7/17, 10/17-10/19, 10/29-11/3 or 12/31/24.
  2. Any chance this is the one? https://www.amazon.ca/Cruise-Princess-Medallion-Accessories-Android/dp/B0BSXT8J3V/ref=sr_1_37?crid=3TI7247XJOKE6&keywords=princess+medallion+holder&qid=1704646720&sprefix=princess+medallion%2Caps%2C75&sr=8-37
  3. Interesting. We've flown out of FLL a dozen times in recent years, though always Terminal 2 (Delta and Air Canada) We have Pre-Check and have NEVER taken more than 5 minutes in the security line for our morning flights and with me needing extra "attention" due to my metal hip. On a side note, for the OP, having airline priority check-in can be a huge time saver. When we arrive for check-in there may be 50+ people snaking through the slow moving check-in line, while we never see more than one or two folks ahead of us in the priority line, and usually nobody. That alone can shave a half hour off the check-in time.
  4. Interesting that you had to drive to two separate offices. I did my latest renewal last year at the Champlain border crossing south of Montreal. The US and Canadian agents share an office and my "transit" from the US to the Canadian interview involved walking about 20 feet from one desk to another. Took all of about 15 minutes for both interviews and the re-shooting of my photo. The NEXUS office is on the US side though, so I did have to drive back into Canada. Having NEXUS alive and well, of course, meant no waiting in the massive non-NEXUS lineup and I was back across the border into Canada in seconds.
  5. You beat me to it. Our TA routinely holds cabins for us up to a couple of days before we have to commit.
  6. Actually the Port Everglades schedule you linked to does go far out into the future. It only defaults to the next week, but a quick search using its search engine will show the status months out.
  7. Correct. When you arrive upstairs to book, the Sanctuary "Maitre'd" walks you through the area, showing you the available loungers you can choose from.
  8. That's EXACTLY what we usually do when sailing out of San Pedro. We stopped staying in San Pedro or Long Beach a long time ago. Our usual hotel is the Doubletree in Torrance, right across the street from the Del Amo Mall and as you say, halfway to San Pedro from LAX. Great location, shopping and restaurants a short walk away etc. Sadly, for our next trip in Feb, we arrive into LAX so late that we didn't want to bother with the hassle of LAX-It and the drive down to Torrance, where we wouldn't have time to do anything anyway. We'll just grab the hotel shuttle to the Sheraton then put up with a longer drive down to the ship, which on a Sunday morning shouldn't be a problem. Surprisingly, the big LAX hotels were almost the same price as our Usual Torrance hotel.
  9. Just a thought, don't some car rental outlets allow for drop-offs outside of normal hours? I've always preferred to drop off a rental when the office was open, to get a fresh statement and ensure the car was accepted back as undamaged, but if the Hertz or Enterprise offices allow drop-offs on weekends, that might be an option. As an alternative, you might want to consider looking at nearby Long Beach. A short ride over the bridge to San Pedro, LB is bound to have more rental car outlets, probably with better hours, than San Pedro
  10. Interesting. It was available on the Discovery in October. Hard to find IIRC but definitely there
  11. +1 on the Ocean Terrace, you will love it. My wife is a huge sushi fan and adores the place, eats there a number of times each sailing.
  12. Account statements are available on the app and on the TV as you say. You can also print the account statements off easily. Near the Guest Services desk there will be a printer that will allow you to print out your statement. Those printers do have a habit of running out of paper on occasion, but we generally find them to be quite easy to use.
  13. Great minds think alike, we're doing exactly the same thing for our next trip in Feb. Since we arrive into LAX late, we'll be staying at the LAX Sheraton on Century Blvd, taking the hotel shuttle from our Terminal 6. The next morning, embarkation day, we'll be Ubering down to San Pedro. Have a great trip...
  14. I believe that comment about needing Uber Black curbside pickup is specific to LAX, as Blacks are the only rideshares allowed to pick up at the terminals. All other "lower" level rideshares and most taxis are only allowed to pick up at the LAX-It lot. At hotels, or San Pedro cruise port, any rideshare can pick up "curbside"
  15. This is generally also what we do as well. Immediately upon boarding, we like to walk the ship and visit each restaurant in turn, making our bookings at each one in person. A few times if we had boarded too early, the restaurant staff are not yet in place so we call the DINE line to make our bookings. As to B2Bers scoffing all the best slots on the previous voyage, I'm cautiously optimistic we should be OK on this trip, as the Discovery is just running continuous Mexican Riviera trips, probably keeping the number of B2Bers down. I know that on some Caribbean trips, where one the week it's Eastern, the next week it's Western, there can be huge numbers of B2Bers.
  16. That's the confirmation I was afraid of ;o( On the same trip last year, where we were unable to book the Sanctuary due to the massive number of B2Bers, we also had great difficulty booking our SD slots. We generally only eat in the SD restaurants and prefer the earliest possible times, as things are at their quietest, the waiters are comparatively fresh for the night, best availability of the few window seats, etc. When we embarked on that trip last year, we headed for the 3 SD restaurants to try and book our desired time of 5PM and were largely shut out, even for that early time. I fully expect it was because of the B2Bers from the previous trip having already booked their slots, so thanks very much for the confirmation. Interesting about your inability to book ahead of time with the two free SD credits from the Premier Package. We have it for our trip in Feb, and I was able to make the two reservations using the credit a few months ago, albeit at the unpopular 5PM.
  17. What exactly is the problem? If you were refunded by Princess, why do you need to endure the hell of trying to contact them? A question like this is probably best suited for the Princess forum, as it doesn't really relate to being Canadian. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/119-princess-cruises/
  18. In our experience, it's even worse than that. On our last trip on the Sky, late last year, we raced on board to try and book the Sanctuary, knowing full well that B2Bers would have boarded ahead of us Elites. When we arrived at the Sanctuary, those of us who had made the mad dash were all informed that the Sanctuary was completely sold out for our week. Seems all 800+ B2Bers from the previous cruise were given the option to book the Sanctuary ahead of time, for the NEXT (our) cruise. So we never had a chance. I wonder if B2Bers are given the option to book Specialty Restaurants using their OBC during the previous cruise like they can with the Sanctuary. That could be one reason why on board SD reservations are getting hard to book. Like many others, we have tons of OBC and prefer to book restaurants immediately upon embarkation, but if it's getting that tough to find the desired slot, we may have to consider booking, and paying, well in advance.
  19. Interesting that they explicitly refer to the Jones Act. I always thought that applied to commercial cargo operations, while the PVSA was the one that covered cruise ships and their passengers.
  20. Got it. I never made it that far as I didn't want to actually pay. Worst case, you probably wouldn't have any problem booking it once on board, assuming you make a booking as soon as you board.
  21. We are back on the Discovery in early Feb, having been on her in October. When I access the DMW section on the phone app, I have no issues finding and selecting The Catch. I can get as far as committing to pay, which I won't do as we already have two SD bookings through the Premier package and I don't want to pre-pay for another, but The Catch shows up as fully available for us. It shows as available for a variety of dates and times of day as well.
  22. We were on her in October. The laundry rooms were definitely open and available. I didn't use the washing machines or dryers, but I always iron my dress shirts using the irons and ironing boards. They are at the back of the ship on each floor around cabin 622, easily located on the deck plan
  23. Sorry, but it's far easier for us to simply walk downstairs to the GS desk and settle the issue in person (and no, we don't wait in line, we just go when it's quiet). We don't carry cellphones with us around the ship, they stay in the safe.
  24. I'm trying to enroll onto Stockperks for the first time, to claim our OBC for a July 2024 trip. I get as far as "Verify Your Email Address", where it is supposed to send a confirmation Email so I can click on it and get verified. After a half hour, still no sign of the confirmation Email, despite having hit "Resend" And yes, it's not in the Spam folder. How long did it take for you folks to receive the confirmation Email? Thx...
