  1. Is there an explanation given on why you must disembark between 7:30 and 8 am when using luggage direct? I'd rather stay onboard as long as possible since our flight is usually around 6 pm. Thanks!
  2. @Sharon in AZAfter my 1st eye was done, the doctor removed the lens on the surgery eye. Looked a little funny but it worked.
  3. @Cruising-alongI did wave toward Lake Stevens when we slowly moved through Everett 😊.
  4. @Quartzsite CruiserPoor Santa! I do like the new ball candle shape. After a miserable drive home to DB’s house on Wednesday (over 3 hours instead of 1 1/2) it was decent yesterday heading home. And we made it to the ferry dock in time to hear the end of the final Apple Cup game-end of the PAC 12 association. U of WA squeaked by Wash. State for an 11-0 season. Great season for the Huskies!
  5. I’m enjoying your reports. They’re bringing back good memories from last year. You should ask at the hotel if they remember the crazy people who left the walker behind because the transfer company wanted over double the price to include it with our luggage.
  6. Thanks for doing another cruise report. Are you at the Claridge Garden Inn? We were there twice last November-before and after our side trip to Florence. How many trips did you need in the elevator to get everything to your room? 😯
  7. Thanks for your reports and all the photos. I especially liked the one of the railing folded in. It showed how the process works. It was intriguing.
  8. @cunnorlFor any of the hard-skinned squash, I pierce them and then microwave them for 5 or 10 minutes. It softens the skin enough to make it easier to cut and peel. Have a great weekend everyone!
  9. I remembered the melting guitar, the cutwork paper sculptures and the strange dioramas/concoctions up by the Crow’s Nest. Can’t wait to search out more next November.
  10. @StLouisCruisersSandi, sometimes hotels show as sold out when they haven’t released rooms for the next year. I’m always anxious to book early (and then keep checking for lower rates) but have run into the “sold out” situation fairly often. A bit later, everything opens up.
  11. Thanks Sandi @StLouisCruisers, but we came home to the same. Woke up at one point, hearing the rain pounding down. Not great for DS, who travelled to Seattle with us, for the Univ. of Washington game today. It was a glorious week in Newnan. Have a great weekend and take care.
  12. Late to dinner-spent yesterday flying home from Atlanta. Trying something different from my usual choices. Ritz cocktail Stuffed mushrooms Plain asparagus Plain beets Jidori chicken Creme brulee and of course, some Bailey’s Oh, that poor knuckle-ouch! Congrats on the medal. Very nice photo. Thanks for sharing your cruise and have a safe trip home.
  13. We were in Sardinia last year and took a tuk-tuk ride. I couldn't believe the places we managed to go-down narrow alleys and up steep paths. It was so much fun!
  14. Depending on the ship, there might be a European outlet behind the bed. We unplug the nightlight and put in an adaptor that we then plug in the extension cord that we bring. It has a spot for 2 plugs.
  15. Lemon Drop Baby Beets Prime Rib with fresh-grated horseradish Ricotta Raspberry Tart And I'm not forgetting the Bailey's tonight!
  16. Thanks again for Georgia supplying lovely weather while we visit. Today we enjoyed the sun while touring the lake on DS's pontoon boat. It's so peaceful compared to our outboard motorboat. The swans greeted us and a couple of herons flew off as we got too near. Hope everyone has a good evening.
  17. I've enjoyed your reports. We'll be at several of the ports next November so this was helpful. Thanks! Enjoy the rest of your journey.
  18. It's interesting reading about the experience of life on the overnight(s) train. Thank you and happy cruising. Stay well!
  19. Cosmopolitan French onion soup Pork chop 3 desserts-I can't decide-probably the chocolate caramel tart
  20. We just returned from the Georgia Aquarium-what an amazing place. I spent nearly 1/2 hour watching the whale sharks glide around their pool. They are so huge! We also did the Behind-the-Scenes Tour but compared to others we've taken, this one was just so-so. And thank you Atlanta for giving us perfect weather. Back home to the rain on Friday. Have a great week everyone.
