  1. Excellent post Purdey. My Uncle worked on that ferry at Zeebrugge but luckily was his rota day off. My Dad had to field several calls from worried Aunties as they couldn’t get hold of my Uncle.
  2. All I can say on the photos subject is it’s a bit ironic to post on a cruise forum about flaunting wealth!! At the moment I can afford a meal but not a cruise!
  3. No rain here yet in Kent. Very uncomfortable overnight but feels fresher now.
  4. Still really hot in the SE. Should be more bearable by Tuesday. Quiet weekend here as John is working. We sat in the garden last night when it was in shade and it was lovely, went back indoors about 8.30 and still stuffy! Have a good day everyone.
  5. Lovely Graham, brings back good memories of last year there for me. Did you stay at Bowness?
  6. How annoying Michelle, hope you get it back soon. Glad you enjoyed the holiday although the ending was spoilt.
  7. My cruise isn’t until Oct 2023 moved from Sept 2021, I hope I get something! We only got £70 between us (balcony!) if I’d booked it now it’s hundreds 😞
  8. Afternoon all, definitely rather warm here but I must be getting used to it as I’m not too bad. It’s not as hot as it was a few weeks back. Luckily I work at home Thursday and Fridays so I didn’t have to stagger home in the heat yesterday. John due home from work very soon, not much planned for the rest of the weekend.
  9. Happy birthday to Brian’s wife. What lovely neighbours you have Brian.
  10. The beach at Blankenburg and viewed from the pier. (Zeebrugge stop)
  11. If you have saver fare you can still use the shuttle buses on P&O they just scan your cruise card and it’s about £3 or £4. The shuttle bus is good to Blankenburg. Lovely beach as someone else said also chocolate shops and if weather is good lots of places to eat and drink by the beach. There’s also a pier.
  12. Yep my mum is 83 and pays for nearly everything on her M&S card, always pays it off every month though. She likes her M&S points! My Dad is 85 and like a sulky teenager the other day when he couldn’t get his new tablet to work 😆
  13. Morning all, typically awake early on my day off. Yesterday the alarm had to wake me for work. Hard going in the heat, especially the walk home at 1pm! I wore a baseball cap for the walk, got some funny looks but there was no shade! My days consist mainly of work and sorting out my parents . Latest - mum fell in the kitchen, grabbed at the towel rail John put up about two weeks ago and pulled it off the wall 🙄 We did treat ourselves to a light lunch at a pub in the old dockyard Sunday with fabulous views. We picked the boat we want 😃
  14. 😱 that’s quite shocking. I hope it all gets sorted ok.
  15. I didn’t know they were the same company but we found Scewfix to be brilliant, especially in lockdown (or just after) Click and collect was brilliant and well organised (sorry Josy!)
  16. I’ve always thought I would want more than a week on Iona to experience everything on board. I know there are longer cruises over the winter but we have our 2 week cruise postponed from 2020 and not doing it until next October! That’s on Britannia so I think it’s going to be a while until I get to sail on Iona.
  17. I’d already moved one ages ago to October 2023. I had wondered whether to change it to a shorter cruise due to my parent’s health but I hadn't moved it. I must say it can’t have helped that on social media there’s lots of people boasting they’ve cancelled and re-booked just to get the extra OBC. I’ve got a paltry amount on my cruise. Yes next year’s prices are high but I’ve seen a lot that are, say pay an extra £400 to make it select - and get £600 OBC!
  18. Not much rain here in muggy Kent. We did have one very hard downpour Sunday evening just after England scored their last goal - and made our sky box go off!! 😡 I was saying to John ‘do something!!’ 😀 The signal was back in time for the final whistle thank goodness.
  19. I’ve just been browsing the P&O site and in September there’s a couple of med cruises on Britannia. If you look at the itinerary map it shows Marseilles. If you click on the detail for each port it shows Toulon!
  20. I’m so pleased to hear your aunt is finally home and hope she continues to recover. So sorry for this latest news though, I certainly don’t have three credit cards with such high limits. What a strange email from Princess.
