  1. I also carry on my "waiter's key" style opener. Used to pack it in my checked luggage if our cruise involved a flight, but have since simply removed the little knife on the waiter's key. I like to open a bottle when we get to our cabin before our checked bags arrive. That "oh my...how dangerous tiny knife 😱" is a favorite excuse for TSA to take it away from you. (Do they have a community EBay thing going with those? 😮😉). This last flight to Hawaii I took the key out of the carry on bag and placed it in the bin separately. The agent actually flagged me down and thanked me, so they did not have to search for it and dig it out to discover it did not have a knife. 😄 And yes, they don't take that away from me now. Oh, and BTW.....mine is pink.
  2. Thanks OB, and have very much enjoyed our conversations here on CC with you as well. Would have liked to have had the pleasure to sail with you, and perhaps we still will someday. 🙂
  3. You don't know me, but believe it or not...I am not one of those Pinnacles. There are jerks in all levels of C&A, (Including your Diamond level). For some reason some pax like to focus on the Pinnacles, and then demonize the whole group. It's the politics of the whole thing has has me weary. I am so tired of the game, and even though I have already made Pinnacle awhile ago, I am done with RCI for pretty much that reason. Tired of being judged, tired of the politics, tired of having our benefit perks eroded. Even though I have made it to that level, ironically I have now started booking almost exclusively with other lines...Viking being the major choice for us now. Have some very long cruises booked around different parts of the world with them that we are looking forward to.
  4. Don't forgot the all important bottle of wine!! 😮
  5. Here Ellen, I will step in for him. 😉
  6. Same thing as to how boring it would be if there was only one flavor of ice cream in the world! 😉
  7. I am in the "always 15 minute (or more) early" crowd as well. Though most times the dining room does adhere to the opening time. Doors closed until then, but not a big deal to join the line waiting for it to open. And then that line goes really fast as everyone after the first night, knows where their table is and just walks straight there. 🙂
  8. Ship is too big and technically getting bigger. Not to mention Allure is definitely not a newer Oasis class.
  9. Allure can't tender at all. None of the Oasis class ships are designed for that. Only smaller ships can go to the many small ports that would justify a world cruise. That is why Radiance class is so popular with the more exotic cruising.
  10. To those that show up 30 minutes or more late...DO be prepared to have your table given away. Have seen it done many times. And even if you DO manage to keep your table after 30 minutes late...DO be prepared for stink eye from the unhappy MTD pax in a long line at the entrance waiting for first seating to finish up so they can be seated.
  11. And RCI has a habit of hiding those pieces at their whim, plus taking them out of the completed puzzle altogether when they want to annoy us. 😠
  12. Welcome aboard! 🙂 Will be our first Viking Ocean cruise. Looking forward to it! RCI cancelled our planned circumnavigation around Australia last year. This after the understandable cancellation due to Covid the previous year, but last year they simply yanked the ship we were to be on (that we had rebooked), just to send it to New Orleans. They had their shot, I rebooked with Viking.
  13. Thanks! We have had a few bouncy ones in the southern Carib. The crew did the same on those wild days/nights as well. I can just imagine the rough seas down under as well...and before this one, we are on one of the smaller ships with Royal Carb. on the world cruise around the horn of South America. Yeah, in for some roller coaster rides I assume! Yikes! 😮 😉
  14. Service for breakfast on Jewel for recent B2Bs the last few months was pretty bad, both times. We finally gave up and went to the MDR for breakfast...and then we were surprised at how good the service was and food choices. Plus they have breakfast burritos and the breakfast "power wrap" we both adore that we could not get in Chops.
  15. Happy to hear you liked your cabin location. That is the cabin we will be in for 45 days (a S2S Venus and Orion). We are circumnavigating Australia, and then NZ...will most likely get some "motion of the ocean". Hopefully not to bad. 🤞
  16. LOL...We have switched over to Viking. I think I might have the same problem. 😉 😄
  17. Hi Sherri. 🙂 Yes, we enjoyed Chops as well. And indeed, it was not because Pinnies were kicked out of CK, met John and Laura in Harmony in there quite often. Have been on ships where there were a very limited amount of Pinnies, (one with only six of us) and were still invited into Chops. I think being able to go into Chops for breakfast is my favorite perk. 🥰 One of the best had been on Voyager for our B2B2B this last February. Waiters were soooo great and always remembered our preferences.
  18. If you say so...it must be as it is. I am done with conversations with you. 😑
  19. So, it came up in conversation with those you despised for taking too much time in CK for breakfast...hmmm...interesting. FYI...We have enjoyed many nice breakfasts on Harmony in Chops. Where are you getting your information? 😏 The bottom line here...is anyone could have spent too much time IYHO at breakfast. Be they suites pax, Diamonds in suites, Gold members in Suites...etc. I am just asking you to have an open mind. Once again, there are good and bad in all walk of life. Try not to profile.
  20. Your post: There is no bashing going on, people are sharing their experiences. You weren't on our recent sailing to see what was going on and you are not aware of who was sailing in a suite and who wasn't. I do know which were in suites and which weren't. You can continue to jump to conclusions as you do when anyone says anything about pinnacles but that does not change what other cruisers are experiencing. OK. ^ Sorry, but I would not be one to answer you if you wanted to know what type of cabin I was in. And do be aware that Pinnacles have the choice to have breakfast in Chops (or sometimes Giovanni's) no matter what the numbers. There were many times we opted for that venue for breakfast versus CK.
