  1. Your bro Bucky can relate to that. He was also all over the world, but in power supply...setting up power plants (mostly in Asia). Not nearly as glamorous as you, but indeed spending his life in hotels, and airports. Could never plan anything at home...he could be gone within hours after the dreaded phone call. 🥺 But my boss loved it...I spent more time on my sales work when he was gone. 😉
  2. Sweet!! 🥰 We still have the Radiance booked for Alaska next year, B2B Seward to Seward. Always enjoyed that set up, though was cancelled during Covid. Will still be able to use our Pinnie perks, and are in GS on the "hump". Following that up with a VRBO rental home on the ocean north of Homer for 3 weeks. I have one of those "milestone" birthdays coming up for that...eeek...am I that old??!!! 😮
  3. Feel exactly the same. So you booked Silversea? That sounds exciting! Hope you enjoy! We are definitely going to try that related ship line as well in the future. Saw one next to us in South America. Beautiful ship! And love the all inclusive ....much like Viking. 🙂
  4. Same here. Can't check in for my May 6th Allure cruise. Typical Royal ITT geniuses at work. 🤪
  5. You got that right! After enjoying 3 weeks on Viking last year...we are sold. Have five more longer cruises booked with them coming up next couple of years. 🙂 If I am going to pay that kind of price, I want the perks, service, and food as I used to enjoy on RCI...but don't get much of that any longer.
  6. That is the scary thing. Passports are sensitive documents. Not cool USPS. 😠
  7. Sent passport book and card for renewal via priority mail on the 12th, paying for expedited service. USPS failed to show delivery (they are still searching for it...typical)...but the check was cashed on the 19th. Expecting delivery soon...will advise when I do.
  8. If it does not...simply take your paperwork to the LA on board to have it adjusted.
  9. After spending the 63 nights just recently on Serenade....we actually enjoyed the first traditional dining each night with the same table and favorite wait team (though we had to follow them around during change at each mini segment). They were like family and would see us coming as they followed us to our table with our favorite glasses of wine. They knew our tastes and catered to us with love. And of course I tipped them in cash each night. 😉
  10. I am not holding my breath that RCI will go ahead with "Project Discovery"....but if they did, I would love to check it out.
  11. Agree there. I have one short cruise booked with Allure, since it is convenient being local (want to see Mamma Mia 😉 )...and then we are pretty much done with the mega ships. Not interested in the theme park atmosphere and don't need to pay for those features I won't use.
  12. Ironically, having made Pinnacle awhile ago...we are now booking with other lines as well. Just not happy with all the cut backs. If I am going to pay top dollar anyway, I would rather find a line that will fill what is now missing with RCI that we used to enjoy. So many little things are adding up, and being Pinnie...it is just not what it used to be.
  13. I bought during the Covid shutdown. Bought exactly 100 shares to simply get our OBC for each cruise. This was not what my broker wanted me to do, and kept trying to get me to sell it (thinking it was junk). I refused. Since then I think I have received half as much in OBC credits as I paid for the stock. Just last week applied to another 9 booked cruises, including Celebrity. And...of course the stock has doubled since I bought it. My broker is in awe and I love telling him...."nah..nah..na..nah nah". 😄
  14. No. We disembarked in LA after first quarter. We are doing Australia/NZ etc. on Viking early next year. Did not need to repeat it with RCI (especially after they cancelled not one, but two of our Aussie adventures 😖). And long ago we decided we had no interest in going to the middle east. Was a wise choice. 😉 So, we are reboarding for the last quarter in Barcelona all the way back to Miami via northern Europe, Greenland, Iceland, and down the east coast of the U.S. We still received our 3 bottles of comped wine for each mini segment (there are 4 on last quarter). And though some confusion, both the full WC and the quarters are allowed to bring on wine at ports, but we never bothered since the deluxe drink package comes with any cabin you book for both WC and quarters (but not mini segments).
  15. After completing last leg of an Alaskan cruise, I left purchased Alaska coupons I did not use that I bought in a packet under the felt in the safe at the request of a fellow Cruise Critic member that was going into that cabin that day on Radiance. They later thanked me on the thread. 🙂 Also once found a bracelet in the safe, which I gave to GS desk with room number. Hope they were able to reclaim it.
  16. When they used to give us comped beer, sometimes we left a bottle or two. And always appreciated by the attendant if we leave our unopened bottle of wine when we don't get to all three of them. But I do leave them on the bed next to the note and the extra tip envelope. Though if it's a "drive to" port...those bottles go home with us. 😉 😄
  17. Thanks Biker. I am going through the process they outlined for applying for refund. Did receive the official notice of chapter 11/bankruptcy as it relates to Texas law. I still don't think we will see any money back from it, ....and don't want to hold my breath and have everyone wonder..."Why so blue"? 😉
  18. Just received an email from friends who were with us on the first quarter. Chris and Jocelyn are also reboarding now in Barcelona through to Miami. Yaaaahhh!!! 😍 They just booked yesterday, so I guess there is still room on the ship for new bookings.
  19. Ellen!!!! 😍 Miss that girl. Hope she is still on when we reboard in Barcelona!
  20. Don't have to worry about the candles...they are not allowed on the ship. Have never found scented plug ins leftover in the cabin. If anyone had done it, they were removed by the attendant long before we checked in. And agree...no one should leave one of those behind. Should go in the trash along with the rest of the leftover stuff before they leave the ship. No one wants someone's leftover stuff.
  21. We always request, and are granted a "two top" for our traditional dining.
  22. Hey does that medallion look like the one that Captain Jack Sparrow had?
  23. Nah Dave...just walk around with your pet skunk in your arms. 😄
