  1. They did not get to see the ruins. The peaceful protest was still going on, which shut down the train. But everyone I talked to told me that RCI did a great job of creating a new itinerary for them, of which they loved. Once again....get creative. 🙂
  2. Just checked on our meeting time...noon. Ugghh...touring the jungle in the heat of the afternoon. 😮 Weather reports for the area near 100 degrees. 😵 Think I may want to find out if bus ride (one hour each way) has A/C.
  3. Seas are totally calm today....hazy warm and humid. More like a lake!! Not only makes for smooth sailing, but enables us to see the marine wildlife easier. Saw huge pods of Dolphin yesterday, lots of Booby birds chasing them, and a pod of large Humpback whales having fun in the distance yesterday. Will be scanning the surface today! 🙂
  4. While having breakfast in Chops we were amazed to see a Bull Dorado leap out of the water right next to the ship, chasing what looked like a tiny duck! Beautiful fish! Didn't want to tell him we cooked and ate one of his relatives yesterday. 😉 Looked like this....did not have phone with me.
  5. Current position just a bit ago....another day at sea, another night, another day at sea and one more night to get to Central America. Puntarenas Costa Rico next port. Have a tour booked to visit a Macaw and Jaguar sanctuary there. Will be very...very hot and humid. Jungle time! 🦜 Time to apply the bug spray heavily! 😮
  6. Hmmm...not really. One way flight to Barcelona booked months ago, and hotel stay set up for two days in advance of re-boarding Serenade. If the ship does not arrive in time...or at all...I will book a return flight for a week later, extend our time in Barcelona (which we adore) and take it from there. 😉 When our Radiance B2B Alaska cruise was cancelled a few years ago due to Covid....I simply booked a VRBO cabin in Homer for two weeks to replace that time...and still flew out there, as we also had a 2 week land hop booked as well. Had a great time! Have now booked (again) the B2B Radiance for next year, followed by a 3 week stay in Homer after the cruise...since we loved Homer so much. 🥰 Yeah, we are flexible...make lemonade from lemons.
  7. Yes!!! Loved that movie! Richard Dreyfus as hilarious in that part! 😄
  8. LOL...I did not know the difference. 😉 Still did not want to go there. 😄
  9. Me too...though I was most frustrated with shore excursions desk just before end of 2nd mini leg. I asked about the Manta stop and was told shoreside services had no issue with it, and our tour was still scheduled. I promptly went upstairs and cancelled the tour online (which put the refund back to credit card...instead of OBC credit). Other cruise lines had cancelled that port of call weeks ago prior. RCI likes to treat as as "mushrooms"...you know...keep us in the dark and throw fertilizer on us? 😉
  10. I agree....the long flights are never fun, and I cannot sleep at all on red eye flights. Not a problem for us on this one, since we only had to fly from Orlando to Miami to pick up our first quarter, (which we did same day...35 minute flight 😉 ). Then we are disembarking in LA to fly back to Orlando. No foreign country airports to deal with either...bonus.
  11. Great pictures! Thanks for sharing! Happy it was indeed a good time...and thanks again for getting our driver to finally get his act together that morning!! 😉
  12. Ahhh...yes...the liquid gold!! Makes every meal taste better too. 😄 🍻
  13. If you are really interested in the pricing....there are multiple mini legs remaining that are still for sale on RCI website. Bookings available...go for it.
  14. We came back with "Flower", at the dock vendor booths in Lima. 😉
  15. You are most welcome...and hope you were not drinking your morning coffee over the keyboard. 😄
  16. Good point...but IMHO...I only care about what I spend. Not interested in what others spend...that is their business and their personal decision. 😉 I am happily getting a great/full experience as it is what we make it.
  17. LOL...was what I was thinking as well. Though it was cute our guide was calling all three of us "Chefs". 😄 Was really fun watching Bucky get into the cooking...he does not do that very often and loved it. The wine and beer helped also. 😉
  18. Exactly. No one expects things to be perfect....that is part of the adventure. You make it up as you go, get creative (as we did yesterday) ....then you sail away to the next experience. That is what traveling is all about. 🥰 And if we were so concerned about saving money...(as someone not on this ship can't seem to get over the money part of it 🤔)....we would not have booked this cruise or tours in the first place. We are all here for the experiences...be they good or bad...happy or sad...we are out here doing it and having the time of our lives and making the best of what we are dealt...that is life. 😍
  19. He didn't want to wear it. We had a choice of wear or not two wear. It was a bit too warm in there with the burners going, so I simply tied my hair back and Bucky went free fly. 😉
