  1. There is no way to see just the cruises that include the discount. They removed that feature many years ago with one of their website "enhancements"
  2. Correct. If you want to use OBC to pay for gratuities it must be used on board
  3. Different. Cruise planner is through a computer not the app. Many differences and through the cruise planner you can book and reserve a lot more things. Go to royalcaribbean.com and upper right corner sign in
  4. Yes, MTD can be booked in advance. Keep checking. Times vary as to when it opens. Use the cruise planner and not the app
  5. Royal uses all of their qualifiers (Military, police, fire, senior and resident) as a way to drive sales and not because they are rewarding those in that specific target group. Some or all of those discounts may appear on selected sailings where they still have cabins to sell. By offering those discounts they can reduce the cabin price to a limited number of people and do not have to worry about large numbers of guests calling in for price drops which may happen if they lowered the price across the board for everyone.
  6. That must be very recent. I have linked profiles for clients within the past couple of months and nothing was required
  7. Yes, just add them at the old rate anytime prior to sailing
  8. We had access at the same time. Possible a few hours early but definitely only a few hours and not days as they told you
  9. Correct. You can even wait until after you have made final and call, add them and pay at that time and you will still get the old rate.
  10. Wow. Doing a lot of time travelling. What's sad is I'm having my first drink after that post.
  11. There is no need to add gratuities or pay for them prior to Nov 11 to avoid the price increase. As long as gratuities are added to the booking prior to sailing and the booking was created prior to Nov 11, 2024 then you will get the gratuities added at the old rate. I just added gratuities to a booking for a client yesterday for a booking that was created prior to Sept of 2023 and their gratuities were added at the rate of $14.50 per person per day. Yes the email that Royal sent out was very poorly written.
  12. 30 cruises and only seen it a couple times and that was a long time ago. I doubt Jason is much into giving money back when he doesn't have to these days.
  13. It depends on how the agency's invoices are set up. If it is included all in the cruise fare then their invoicing system will try to record commission due on the total amount. Most agencies invoices are tied to their entire record keeping system so commissionable and non commissionable amounts must be kept separate
  14. They are misrepresenting what that really is. The taxes and fees are $181. The $450 is what is called Non commissionable cruise fare or NCCF. It is a portion of the cruise fare that TA's do not get commission on. On the guest copy of the invoice this is included in the cruise fare. On the agent copy it is a separate line item. Many agencies that create their own invoices lump this amount in under taxes
  15. With the 1E and 2E there is no difference in location. It is only about occupancy. Fir other categories you may be correct but not fir this one.
  16. That's the easiest way. While it shouldn't be a problem getting two table of two combined to a table for 4 that is just one more thing you have to deal with on board. Enjoy your dinner.
  17. We have been on a couple ships where all they do is give you extra key cards and would not move you. Not sure if it was because of the age of the kids or not but like everything Royal, be prepared for differences between ships and even crew on the same ship.
  18. There is no charge for name changes for bookings made from North America.
  19. E1 and E2 are Celebrity cabin categories and neither are obstructed If you mean 1E and 2E on Quantum class ships then there is no difference in the cabins other than thev1E will have a pullout sofa and can sleep 3 or 4 guests.
  20. I agree but Royal has shown time and time again that they will not make changes to the program but will keep diluting the benefits although personally I will gladly give up my lounge access for the free daily drinks. I'll take that change any day of the week.
  21. Solo rates and balcony discounts are not off the rack rate. Those 2 perks are actual savings applied to the sale rate with the exception of the balcony discount and booking suites where the extra savings or obc offered is not combinable with the balcony discount.
  22. What many people here perceive to be a problem is in fact anything but. Allowing kids to share and then keep their parents status, allowing spouses to match status, not taking away status is brilliant marketing by Royal. It costs them next to nothing in perks and yet when it comes to decision time as to which cruise line they will spend their $ with Royal instantly has the upper hand (yes I know there are exceptions and some dont cruise for the perks). Look at it this way, it would have been easy to change this years ago and yet here we are. That right there tells you Royal does not perceive it as a problem. This same discussion has been ongoing for years and years.
