Just noticed they’ve pulled an ambulance up to the Eurodam and taking a stretcher in. Hope the person is OK… -

BTW, even though we are now in COVID isolation (DW was positive night of Glacier Bay - I am still negative - knock on wood), this has been an enjoyable cruise. Staff is wonderful, Crown Grill was the best meal I’ve had on Princess, and even now, in isolation, I can order Vanilla Bean Lattes through the app. Not a bad thing! -

At the US/Canada border (where we had to turn around) and at Reid Falls, which is a 5 minute hike from the Gold Rush cemetery. We used tntours98.com and they were amazing! Highly recommend! -
We can drive home in 2 days. Not sure the difference since Princess allows you to select your own hotel if you want. Also, that will be at the end of DW’s 5 day period. On a positive note, she won’t need to test for either of the other 2 cruises we have upcoming this summer as Princess says they will provide a recovery letter.

That’s what they are saying. My wife has to stay at the hotel until after 10 days in quarantine. I am negative, but they say I can’t fly.

My DW is positive and in quarantine on the Crown. I am negative. They are saying we can’t rent a car and drive when we get back to Seattle. I can, but she cannot.

I am on now and we are currently making 18 knots. That said, we are entering some dense fog, so we’ll see how that goes. They are sounding the fog horn quite a bit. -

Just adding because I know others have asked in prior weeks. From the Journey View it seems as though we are running 18-19 kts fairly consistently… at least so far… -

We are on as well this week. We’ve shown up to DaVinci both nights without reservations and been seated within 5 minutes. -

We are on the cruise today as well. Not a good start. Our Seattle Express driver never showed up for our transfer. Trying to get that situated… -
Interesting read on the Harmony. Apparently it’s the same captain that interrupted the rocket launch a few months ago…
-
Between this, Carnival Freedom and Harmony of the Seas…. Not a banner day for cruising…

Unless they are recently recovered and then their natural immunity is likely better than those that are only vaccinated... Vaccinated with Breakthrough infection recovery is even better.
-
It seems like every country is a little bit different…
-
I believe that Europe, unlike the US, may also recognize infection recovery (for 6 months, maybe?) as an equivalency to vaccination. We are flying to Rome later this summer and that is listed for Italy at least…

Yep!

We'll be on the 28th as well! See you there!

Sun, Sea, Ocean, and Dawn were all Sun Class ships. They were perhaps my favorite class. Those were beautiful ships. I am sorry to see them gone (well, actually, the Sun and Dawn aren't gone, they are just with P&O Australia, but I digress...)

We've only done 2 cruises on each (RCCL and CCL), but I have to say, our cruise on the Mardi Gras, I think changes the dynamic a bit. It's not like the older CCL ships (like, they now have a glass shower door, the cabins are really nice, things like that). I think that they are stepping up and competition is a good thing! That said, we probably enjoy DCL and Princess (and now, Virgin... that was a great cruise) as our "go-to" lines, but we find something we like on every line. I am looking forward, for instance, to funnel cakes at Coco Cay next week!

I know everyone thinks this is a Princess problem, but it's not. For our January Oasis of the Seas cruise, a couple of weeks before, they cancelled San Juan and replaced it with Nassau (also, not a good trade). Told us it was because they weren't allowing ships in due to Covid regulations... but somehow Odyssey of the Seas made it in the day we were supposed to be there... Hmmm... Also, same thing happened on our Carnival Mardi Gras cruise. Swapped San Juan for Nassau. Again, Carnival Horizon was there that week, not sure why we couldn't go... Heard on board same things as here. Engines couldn't get down that far and back, so the itinerary was shortened. Not sure if there is any truth to that, but it is what we were hearing.
