  1. That appears regardless of any acknowledgement. It goes on the reservation at day 1 but the closest they come to acknowledgement of your completing the form is in your cruise personalised where it states form submitted X date.
  2. The average pint of lager where I live is £6.50 and one local newly renovated pub is charging £7.00. Even Weatherspoons is just under £6 by a few pence. Our local social club is £5.75 a pint. It's no wonder with the prices being discussed here the government spokesman when mentions the average price of a pint in terms I think he's in cloud cuckoo land!
  3. Cunard did for quite a while ...
  4. Selbourne the OP of this thread HAD completed his Questionnaire, received no reply so resubmitted it to then be denied. He was not a full time user of a chair so was not denied boarding but the fact remains his form was not acknowledged or actioned. P&O need to acknowledge these submitted forms by more than the note on your personaliser stating formsubmitted on X date as that does not confirm they have actioned the request for assistance.
  5. I didn't stay long enough to find out!
  6. I was on deck 9 enjoying some peace and quiet enjoying the fresh air despite the stiff breeze and decided or the first time this voyage I to have afternoon tea as it's the tea dance with the Orchestra. Imagine my surprise when the lift doors opened on deck 8 to reveal ... the covid twins smiling happily. No they didn't join me but I did see them wander in here shortly after me.
  7. I am not in any way surprised. I once met her in London after she had an encounter with a bus driver who closed the doors after she'd run for it. She spent 10 minutes turning the air blue at the audacity of him not opening the doors for her and I did get the impression of "don't you know who I am". I did however enjoy the talk, although there was an air to the first part of me, me, me.
  8. I sat at a table of 6 for breakfast, all complaining. Sat through two talks in the theatre, two different people sat next to me, both unhappy with the Godparent and telling me this isn't a real Chnard ship. Well the outside paint job and the Cunard name emblazoned on her seems to indicate they may just be a little misguided in their belief ... Even queuing to buy Celia Imrie's book someone announced we'll.no doubt she has to earn her goodie bag. Goodness me, perhaps the late night has made them so grumpy but really ...
  9. We have the meal this evening which is to be based on British food. Hopefully it will be very good. One of the gripes today is that the guests in the seated area all left with a Queen Anne goodie bag. The passengers had a copy of the souvenir programme but nothing to mark the occasion apart from this. The remainder of upset revolves around no Royal and the five ladies who operated the switch. I find both very amusing but particularly the grumble about.no gift. Clearly the Liverpool naming was intended to be a marketing campaign as much as anything else. It would be hard for me to complain due to.my bargain basement fare but really and truly yesterday is not something to have a major problem with.
  10. Well the mood on here is very down. Virtually everyone I've spoken to today is moaning about something! Very tiring after the long day and night just past. After being up from 5.00am yesterday to see the sail in, wandering the steets of Liverpool, being escorted round a fascinating vessel called The Danny and then standing through the ceremony and back onboard at 8.25pm I'm not really in the mood for all the doom and gloom so have retired with a good book to a chair away from everyone after watching the lovely Celia Imrie In the theatre. My opinion only. The send-off was lovely, the people of Liverpool very welcoming and I didn’t go to bed until 2.00am so the party must have been good. A large number were enjoying the Pavillion, still going strong at 11.30pm when I decanted to The Bright Lights with my table companions. We enjoyed the day enormously and no matter what you make of some of the decisions it was a unique and memorable occasion that I for one am very glad I had the opportunity to enjoy. I've even made a new friend, a lady I met ashore last night who does three jobs as a cleaner and bar person who wanted to know all about cruise ships and travelling around the world seeing sites she said she could only dream of. She's 73 and our conversations made me appreciate even more how very lucky I am to be travelling on this lovely ship no matter who her Godparent is or how she compares to her predecessors. It very humbling to receive profuse thanks for something as simple as a handful of photographs of the occasion.
  11. Thank you. I am travelling with my husband for this one - our entire adult family are travelling I was thinking of bidding just above the minimum to see if anything happens. At the moment there seem to be quite a few cabins free but if course we could end up with anything! My husband has never sailed in anything less than a balcony do if we don't change it will be interesting.
  12. Thank you. I've never sailed on Aurora so have no idea about her cabins so this is very helpful
  13. The dog enjoyed it! He was woofing along for a while.
  14. As suspected I have my upgrade options, minimum.bids: Larger outside £250pp Balcony £550pp Deluxe Balcony £860pp Mini suite £1820pp Suite rear £3140pp No change on the new booking prices. The balcony would be a saving of over £1700 if it came near the minimum bid. Seriously considering it. Are there any really bad Balcony cabins, particularly noise related? Thanks.
  15. The silence was palpable in the Cunard section but the good folk of Liverpool loved it.
  16. The silence was palpable. They haven't done her any favours!
  17. This is exactly the mechanism Carnival used on their newest ship and Arvia last year in Barbados. It's apparently eco friendly and stops glass going in the water. The Godparent pulls the lever and releases a computer signal onboard for go. It was quite weird watching Arvia as the bottle was released and eyes had to then.move to the big screen. This was the guys setting it up at 6.00am in the wet!
  18. Indeed, it's obviously meant to be as I saw Andrea Bocelli in Marostica, about 50 miles from Venice, in 2022. Clearly my 'phone has wonderful memories!
  19. I'm pretty sure they'll try it. Really not nice people I'm afraid. Apparently they are blaming all the Chinese onboard - I think they are referring to the Japanese guests in error - as they've been running round in masks but taking them off on the dance floor. I honestly could make up some of the nonsense I've heard this morning, particularly the conversations when they were alone awaiting instructions.
  20. Oh yes, all ready. Shoe dilemma at present but my special Maestro dress is ready and waiting. The weather is not quite the same as the past two years but I'll still be wearing it. Funnily my phone thinks I'm in Mestre, Venice!
  21. Yes, they were originally given it for that reason, in fact offered two. However they refused the doctor and test stating they did not have the money, the officer made a call and apparently the doctor said they cannot force them so they are responsible for themselves for 48 hours and can go about their normal business. I had to bite my tongue as to me that is just irresponsible and lacking care for the rest of us. She had already told the Pursers office she had a positive test.
  22. Actually I can feel a sore throat coming on ... maybe I can see that pretty tree after all. I could add it to my patio collection!😉
