  1. At this point we made our way back inside. They were doing Karaoke in the Gondola Lounge so we passed through quickly….. We had heard that our favorite alchemist, Zora, was on the Venezia, so once on board were able to find out that she was working at the Steakhouse in the Service Bar…. The Steakhouse Hostess went and told Zora that we were here, and then it was all smiles and hugs. She told us that for this cruise she was assigned to the Steakhouse, and also to Java Blue in the mornings. What a waste of talent! She hoped to be back at the Amari Bar for the Journeys cruise. We then decided to eat at Bonsai Sushi tonight….. Here is the menu / selection sheet….. We both had the Miso soup….. Patti ordered edamame, green salad, and California rolls….. To be continued…..
  2. The top of the Freedom Tower is obscured by the clouds…. We are leaving lower Manhattan behind….. We are now passing by Ellis Island….. Lady Liberty always looks great, even when wet….. Looking up at the aft Terrazza cabins….. To be continued….
  3. Patti comes back to the cabin where we will wait for our sail away to start. Here is where we are, and where we’re going….. The bow camera is telling us that sail away has begun! We head back to Terrazza Carnevale for sail away. Here are some cloudy and rainy New York views. We’re praying that the sail away for the next cruise will be much nicer…. To be continued…..
  4. From here Patti moves back up to Deck 11. The mid ship pool area is deserted. Where did everybody go? Up here on the starboard side you’ll find a bocce ball court, table tennis, foosball tables, and even a huge Chinese checker game….. Here are some views from Deck 11. It appears that the rain is letting up….. To be continued…..
  5. Bonsai Sushi is right across from the Amari Bar. We will be eating here later tonight….. The Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse is also next to the Amari Bar, but we’ll get back to that later. Next up is Bonsai Tappanyaki…… Across the way is Piano Bar 88. The Piano Bar Player for both cruises is Misso….. The Quora String Trio performs in the Piazza San Marco….. To be continued…..
  6. Patti heads back inside, and after leaving the Carnevale Bar & Lounge, and heading forward on Deck 5, the first venue she comes to is the Gondola Lounge, which is the Ocean Plaza on the other ships….. Continuing forward, next she comes to the Pixels Photo Gallery….. Continuing forward on Deck 5, the next venues she comes to are the Frizzante Bar, and the IL Viaggio Italian Restaurant. These venues are where the Pig & Anchor or Red Frog Pub are located on the other Vista Class ships….. Patti checks out IL Viaggio. We will be eating here twice during our time aboard the Venezia….. Up next is the Amari Bar, which is the Alchemy Bar equivalent on the Venezia….. To be continued…..
  7. Continuing aft on Deck 4, she passes through the Art Gallery…. Patti then heads up to Deck 5 and all the way aft to the Carnevale Bar & Lounge. This would be the Havana Bar on the other Vista Class ships….. Because it is raining, Patti is allowed to go outside to check out the Terrazza Carnevale…… This is the outside half of the Carnevale Bar….. It’s a little wet out here! To be continued…..
  8. Patti leaves the sail away party, and because there is still well over an hour before the ship actually sails, she continues on her photo tour. Patti heads back down to the Piazza San Marco on Deck 3. Here is Carnival Adventures (Shore Excursion) Desk….. Across from there is a Fun Hub, which is handy if you want to printout anything….. All the way forward on Deck 3 you will find Circle “C” and Club O2….. Here are a couple of views of Club O2….. And here are a couple of Circle “C” views….. Patti heads up to Deck 4 and passes through the San Marco Shops….. To be continued…..
  9. This is a very legitimate question, and this is our opinion. For us, the lack of a pool is a deal breaker, and we would not book a Terrazza cabin. The area is beautiful, which you will see in the next soggy segment.
  10. Great start to your review. We love visiting Charleston! 😎
  11. Just before 4pm Captain Crescenzo Palomba made the announcement that we wouldn’t be sailing until 6pm, because he was going to wait for more favorable tidal conditions. For Cruise Director Joey Boyes and the Fun Squad the sail away party would begin now anyway….. Patti went up to Deck 11 for a better view….. Patti discovered the library and game shelf up here….. To be continued…..
  12. Patti takes us into the Woman’s Locker Room……. Of course, they’re always pushing the Elemis….. To be continued……
  13. Our luggage had arrived so we both unpacked. I was going to relax in the cabin until sail away, but Patti was on the move to continue her picture tour! This is some of the Venetian artwork in our elevator lobby. The eyes behind the masks looked kind of creepy! Patti heads up to the Cloud 9 Spa and Fitness Center on Deck 12 Forward….. This is the Relaxation Room…… To be continued…..
  14. Glad to have you guys aboard as always! We are doing a B2B on the Venezia next year. 8/31 7 day Bermuda, 9/7 7 day Canada. Would love to have you join us.
  15. Patti collects me at the Burano Pool Bar and we head back to our cabin which is now ready…… The bathroom has a glass shower door….. There is only one closet to hang clothes. The safe is the keypad type….. This is the provided hair dryer….. This refrigerator actually kept beverages cold…… There are three hanging hooks by the cabin door, and another hook by the bathroom door…. This is Blessing our cabin steward, and he really was a blessing! We requested morning service, an ice bucket with ice, and an extra set of towels. There was no problem with any of our requests, and he was a HUGE help on turnaround day with our move to our new cabin. I would take him any day! To be continued…..
  16. Patti heads aft on Deck 4 and through the Venezia Casino….. Heading further aft she comes to the Limelight Lounge where the comedians do the bulk of their shows…. Here are our first two comedians. More on them later….. Patti checks out the Canal Grande Restaurant located all the way aft on Decks 3 & 4. This is the Restaurant used for Your Time Dining (YTD)…… To be continued…….
  17. Patti heads down to Deck 5 by the Atrium to check out the venues there. Here is the Beauty Salon….. Here are some of the Deck 5 shops and the open hours for the six day Canada / New England cruise…… Patti moves down to Deck 4 and checks out the shops by the Atrium….. The Dreams Studio is also located there….. To be continued……
  18. We decided to head up to the Lido Marketplace on Deck 10. Also open for embarkation lunch on Deck 10 was Guys Burgers, Tomadoro, which is the equivalent of Blue Iguana Cantina plus some Italian fare, The Deli, Seafood Shack, and of course Pizza del Capitano. Outside on Deck 5 is the La Strada Grill which equates to the Pig & Anchor BBQ. We take the elevator up to Deck 10. The Venezia has the “Smart” elevators which we have begun to like. It just takes a day or so for everybody learns to use them properly….. We decide to get our lunch from the Deli. On the way there we pass the Sweet Spot….. We get to the Deli and there is only one person in line ahead of us. Patti orders the turkey sandwich on a pretzel bun, and I order a couple of chili dogs and fries….. The Marketplace is pretty crowded so we decide to take our food to the RoCoco Bar by the mid ship pool. This bar is located where you would find the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar. Looking at the menus, you can see some of your favorites from the Red Frog and Blue Iguana…… They also have a variety of pre-made frozen drinks….. Across the way, where the Red Frog Rum Bar would be, is the Java Blue Cafe. Kind of a weird location for it, but it did work for me….. After we finished eating, Patti was going to begin her picture tour, and I was going to head all the way aft on Deck 10 to the Burano Pool Bar (Tides Bar). To be continued……
  19. We had not been sitting at the bar very long when the first of several Cruise Critic members that we would meet on these cruises, approached us to say hello. This is Rich (ramref) and Kathy. They are traveling with their in-laws Charley and Janice, whom you will meet later. They will also be on the Venezia for 21 days. Rich is a self-professed lurker, though I see he has posted twice already on this thread. We really enjoyed talking to and hanging out with these guys!...... After we finished our drinks we made our way up to the Promenade Deck 5 towards our Muster Station. Here are a couple more views of the Atrium as we made our way up…… Our Muster Station (A5) is in the upper level of the Teatro Rosso, which on other Vista Class ships is the Liquid Lounge…… After being scanned in we got to check out the room. To me this seemed bigger, probably because there isn’t a center aisle. Only the first three rows in the center have the removable chairs. The rest of the seating is fixed, and include cup holders…… This crewmember demonstrates how to put on a life jacket. It’s over in two minutes…… We decide to drop off our carry-on bags at our cabin. We walk up two flights of stairs to Deck 7. We are in Cabin # 7255, which is an inside cabin forward on the starboard side. Our Sail & Sign cards are in the mailbox, but the cabin is not ready. We put our carry-ons in the closet, and leave a note for our steward. It’s time for lunch! To be continued…..
  20. I don't know, but one day the stars will align and it will happen! I'm hoping to be done by Thanksgiving!!!
  21. Oh, wish you would have said something. We could have made arrangements to meet up later. We had a great time. We loved the ship! 😀 Thanks for jumping aboard once again! 😀
  22. Hey Rich! It was a pleasure to meet and hang out with you guys on the Venezia. Please feel free to post your insights, experiences, and observations as the review progresses. Did you book the Spirit Hawaii cruise yet? 😀 I think you made a great choice! We are booked for a B2B on the Venezia again next year. 😎
