I love when I have something washed on the ship and then not wear it again onboard. When I’m home and end up wearing it again days, weeks, months later, I find that little tag and it brings a smile to my face!

I drink only tea, no coffee. In the AM the choice of teas at the Lido includes British Breakfast Tea along with at least 10 other selections including Tips. While not boiling, the water is definitely hot enough to make a decent cup of tea. The water delivered from Room Service is not near as hot. As Ruth said the container of milk is sitting right at the same station.

This was posted on another thread. As you can see your OBC depends on stateroom type and length of cruise.

I see you voted for #811. Maybe you just don't like the suggestion of eliminating all indoor smoking areas.
Not a fact at all as I could care less if they eliminated smoking indoors. What I don't like is when folks squabbling over and over again about existing rules and regulations. Learn to live with it or sail with some line that has "no smoking" whatever.

Okay "Ipeeinthepools" & "KroozNut" could you two just agree to disagree please? Your bickering back and forth has dominated this thread for quite some time and has really really gotten dull and boring. And yes, before you type it, I know I don't have to read it.
BTW, "Ipeeinthepools", what's with the handle?

While I totally agree there are many tiers of economy, I clicked through on the Flight Ease dummy booking to select seats. They were definitely not the "main cabin" seats as those were marked with a P to indicate that they had to be purchased from the airline. I looked at the exact same seats on AA and saw the difference in price. And first class is first class, and there was a $500 difference.
My point isn't this particular flight, but just advice (take it for what it's worth) to not take Flight Ease fare as gospel and the lowest available. Maybe that's obvious to everyone, but it certainly bears repeating.
Thunder you are correct re MYR to FLL and return. I've been making the trip for several years now and booking direct with the airlines (AA or DL) is always cheaper than Flight Ease.

What happened to the chairs at the seaview pool? They are no longer there.
Probably a picture taken on departure day as they usually remove the chairs around the Sea View Pool due to the potential of lots of people wanting to watch from there.

It was announced 1 day after final payment that Skagway would be dropped from our upcoming 14 night Alaska cruise, and replaced by Victoria, BC. While the situation may have been out of their control, the timing is suspicious for many of us. Most would prefer an alternative for more time in Alaska, as some already live in BC, or are seeing Victoria during the first leg of their B2B. We were originally in Sitka on May 17th, which was shifted to May 16th, so one option could have been an overnight.
Here is my larger complaint, some of us booked during the 150th Anniversary Sale, which included a free White Pass Rails tour for cruises that stopped in Skagway. Since Skagway is being dropped, so is the perk. The cruise actually got cheaper in December when the promotion was over, which luckily we took advantage of, having recently done the full Yukon Cruise Tour. Everyone else seems to be out of luck. I am pretty sure that excursion was built into the price of the Skagway cruises during the promotion, maybe not $1:$1, but certainly accounted for. These passengers should be given an equivelant excursion credit.
Do we know for certain that HAL is not compensating them in some way?

Yes owned by the same group but I do not believe that your Princess loyalty level carries across to HAL except for 1*.
What you "believe" is correct. There have been several threads here on CC over the years about some kind of reciprocity between the CCL corp lines but to date nothing has been done.

Do you have two booking numbers one for each leg or you have only one booking number for all 14 days?

Agree w/RuthC...and as always, her advice is spot on....Also adding that Uber/Lyft are also available at Port Everglades and that is our preference over Ft Lauderdale taxis.
Do they allow Uber drivers to enter the port area in advance of someone requesting a ride or must they wait outside the gated area until a rider is confirmed?
Also, what is the advantage of using Uber/Lyft over a cab?

"Curious as I was not contacted by security after my fall. And I was billed for all of the medical services."
Jacqui I would make certain to point that fact out to HAL. Early Spring 2020 (prior Covid shutdown) I stupidly tried to take the end of my finger off closing one of the pool loungers. When I went down to medical and prior to even seeing the doctor the receptionist called the SECO down to speak with me. After explaining to him several times that HAL was not responsible for my stupidity he had me sign a form to that effect. Since I'm certain you advised medical that you had slipped on a wet floor they were negligent in not contacting the SECO. He/She should have spoken with you prior to you leaving medical. You should be reimbursed for all you out of pocket expenses.

Bill - Mary Ann, Since I know you are from somewhere in California I hope it is not one of the areas under siege by Mother Nature.
Thank you so much for again taking us along with you on your voyage.

I was thinking Jose was getting even with me for taking the trip and making sure I missed him 😉
.............................................................................................................
Jacqui, you are correct it was a message from Jose BUT you got the actual message incorrect. What he was trying to show you was that you are a strong women and more that capable of dealing with what life hands you and you made him very proud. He does know how much you miss him but would not be happy if you stopped living your life to it's fullest. He will always be by your side............

no matter how many times--and it's been many-- we've been thru the Panama Canal always an interesting day.. still my favorite is watching the '2 men in a rowboat'--no motor-- right in front of the ship catch the lines thrown to them from the ship as one rows sometimes rather quickly out of the ship's path and the other hands off the lines to connect to the first 'mule'.. have a great WC
Thought I was the only one to find that cool!

Thanks for this. I have only seen the numbers on deck plans and never the letter categories (or I didn't notice). Next time I book a cruise, I am going to put a lot more thought into choosing the cabin. Hopefully we are happy with the one we chose and maybe someday I'll even get an aft!!
On HAL's site the categories are color coded, just match the color to the code on the legend.

Higher the letter ( VA) better the cabin (VF) IN HALs opinion.
According to HAL it is location, location, location! Some do not agree with HAL opinion. Unless it is one of the odd shaped staterooms, easy to see on the deck plans, the "V" staterooms are identical.

Is this normal?
Thanks for any advice.
Pretty much so and isn't it great! If you have questions about pretty much anything about your cruise and cannot find the answer on HAL's Before You Go site just ask you question here on CC. Additionally, I recommend you join (or at least read) the Roll Call for your cruise.

Maybe a possible resolution is using two smaller cabanas but lifting the drapery in between the two? Might that work? Good Luck!
This sounds like the perfect solution and I would push HAL to expedite this plan.

Kathi WONDERFUL to see your Christmas present! Just knowing that you will not fall will help make your gait much more normal and hopefully that will reduce your pain.
I cannot thank you enough for taking all your time to keep us up to date on your travels.
Wishing you a blessed holiday and a safe and healthy New Year.

The vacation protection, normally just referred to as "insurance", has not been refundable for as long as I've been sailing on HAL. Waiting until final payment to buy it is the way to protect against situations like the one you had. I do hope your wife is doing okay and feels better with each passing day.

$50 NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CARD
in Holland America Line
Posted
Bottom line is there is no discount applied to drinks - the card just keeps them from showing up on your stateroom account.
