Awesome review! Thanks for taking the time to do one.
We board the ship March 10th. It will be the first cruise for 4 grandkids and the first on Splendor for all the adults 8 of us.
-
Wow!! So glad I asked!! Really good info!! Thank you!!
Here's a thread you may find helpful:
-
There are some notes on Splendor from a cruiser on the Jan 27th cruise. There on the last page of their Role Call thread. Here's a link: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2425290&page=6
Also some posts from cruisers on-board in the Roll Call thread for the Feb 3rd cruise. Here's that link: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2476296&page=17
Ok, I've just decided I'm going to get the internet package, take along my computer & scanner for our cruise on Splendor on the 17th, and do a thread with live updates.
Oooh I'm excited & will be watching for your live review!!!! :D . We sail on March 10th!
-
I agree. We're on the Feb. 10th cruise. Not much time for me to read up.
Since my cruise doesn't leave until March 10th then I will be waiting, patiently of course, for your review too ;)
Enjoy your cruise!!!
-
Waiting patiently, well sort of ;) . We leave in 5 weeks, it can't get here fast enough!!!

I visited the coffee bar multiple times a day and never once bought coffee. :D I bought chocolate covered strawberries, the candied fruit/cheesecake dessert, and occasionally some others. :) Strawberries at bingo.....strawberries by the pool.......for a nighttime snack.......
Good latte's, I also had a few spiked coffees from there, and the desserts were wonderful....it was all mmmmm good :hot-beverage: :)

Last time in Mazatlan we walked to the Mercado and back. My pedometer counted around 14,000 steps oral for the day. Relatively flat, though there are couple of 6step stairs to navigate.

In port there is the shopping area inside and outside the building. Going outside this area, but before the street is a huge building with another flea market.
Thank you, sounds like what we are looking for.
-
The guy selling tequila and jello shots is a hoot! He'll make your group all kinds of fun balloon hats. Enjoy!
Sounds like fun!! There are 12 of us; 8 adults and 4 kids (7, 12, 16 and 17). :D
-
There is a little bit of shopping. The only place to eat/drink within the port is the Green Bar. Cheap food and drinks. I think I have a menu from last month. I'll see if I can find it and post it.
Thank you! I just looked at The Green Bar on Trip Advisor and it sounds like fun, my group will like it.
-
There usually is a small craft market in the port. They also sell cold beer there as well.
Thank you.....we have shoppers & beer drinkers in our group :D

We are cruising in March. In Mazatlan my family has decided to stay on the ship and possibly go into the port area. What is there to do within the port area? Any shopping, eating or drinking establishments?

Only problem with the Passport bus is the area for luggage is also the HC area and isn’t too large.

We will definitely have a lot of luggage. Some of them are bringing more than 1 bag.

2.5 miles away from the Carnival terminal?
Which hotel are you in? 2.5 miles sounds like it takes you just outside the prime area...maybe the BW on First?
Anyway, with 12 of you, any of the shuttle companies will gladly send you a couple of vans...for a price...
Or you could use Uber...
Or you might be close enough to the Passport route to even take that...
Even taxis aren’t terrible fo4 that short a trip.
You might also try contacting Sunseeker Tours...they have 14 passenger buses they use for Tours, but they also do charters...they may be willing to send a bus to your hotel to get you to the pier...since they are headquartered in Long Beach anyway...
We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott Long Beach Downtown. Thank you for the suggestions.

I’m with a group, 12 of us, sailing out in March and we need transportation from our hotel 2.5 miles away. We know about Uber and Lyft but wondering if there is a shuttle service we can arrange for? The hotel does not provide transportation.
-
I BEG of anyone going on the first sailings under the new itinerary to post menus, funtimes and Ocean club if able...I KNOW it would be greatly appreciated my many.....
PLEASE AND THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
I would appreciate it too! :) We are on the ship in March :D
-
I didn't know about this....how do you get this card? No one ever offered it to me..do you just have to ask? On all ships?
They advised me of it on embarkation when I purchased a drink. I would definitely ask if it isn’t offered to you.
-
I was just on the Vista last month and there was no coffee card. There was, however, a punch card; buy 6 get the 7th one free.
-
It worked quite well for us but we did not use it a lot. As I posted above, you need to watch that texts are delivered when you send them.
Thanks.

How reliable have any of you found the chat feature to be? I've read and been told by a friend that it is hit or miss.

to Jiminy1955
my understanding is that this is not a new booking, but a change for another booking you had with Celebrity - I don't think you can transfer to TA because you have to do that with a new booking with 60 days (i could be wrong). Maybe someone else on board can tell you better - but you can contact a TA and ask if you are able to transfer and they will let you know
Thank you, I will definitely check it out.

When and where did you get your Sail and Sign cards? On the Vista in December they were in our cabin mailbox.
