  1. Hi Charles, the first paying passenger/revenue generating cruise is the Dec 16 Eastern Caribbean cruise. I don't remember where I saw it, but it was something from Celebrity, that there isn't going to be a transatlantic cruise offering for passengers. My opinion is that given the number of outdoor areas, there would be a lot of disappointment for passengers on a transatlantic in early December. When we did the Quantum transatlantic in November 2014, the outside areas were closed most of the time because of the weather and rougher seas.

Of course, anything could change, but right now, the first paying passenger cruise is the one on the 16th of December.

    Hope this helps,

    Joanna

I read or heard that somewhere (Celebrity) also.

  2. Absolutely NO changes on my computer....BUT I do remember a week or so ago trying access Cruise Critic and it was down completely, this was very early in the morning....and when it came back up this problem arose and has not gotten better, if anything it's getting worse.....

I have checked "keep me logged in" it's NOT about cookies...it's about some kind of glitch in the system....which THEY fixed after the initial changes a couple months back and now it's back....

This could me writing this post. So frustrating! I used to be kept logged in 24/7. I hope they recognize and fix the problem real soon!!!

  3. It's pretty new. You can download it onto your phone and it has a digital copy of the fun times for the whole week, the ability to set reminders for activities, view your sail and sign account, etc. It's free to use unless you want to use the chat feature, which has a small additional charge. Just be sure to have your phone in airplane mode and connect via the ships wifi.

    Sounds great. Thank you!

  4. Well, not quite, as far as walking off whenever you want. The Luggage Valet people are asked to wait until an announcement is made that their luggage has all been cleared. After that announcement, then they can go whenever they wish. Before that, there is still a chance that their suitcase might still be rejected from the program and would have to be retrieved and personally checked at the airport.

Do you know an approximate time that announcement is made?

  5. chamima,

I know this is a silly question, but we'll be on the Eclipse in about 3 weeks and my son is asking about what can be hooked up through the TV in the cabins. I know that there use to be a way to connect devices, so I told him that I would ask. If anyone else can help too it would appreciated. I think he's looking for HDMI or other hook ups.

Thank for your review. You are making us even more excited. I was hoping someone would post after reading WonderMan3, who just got off the Eclipse and YOU DID. Enjoy!!!!

    Thank you again.

Take a look at this thread regarding tv hookups on the Equinox recently.

  6. Luggage Valet is great for late flights. Most airlines (especially in FLL) will not let you check your bags in until 3 hours prior to departure. You're basically stuck sitting in the ticket lobby until you can check your bags in. In FLL, there's pretty much nothing outside of security. It's a long, boring wait.

That is exactly what happened to us in Houston a few years ago; it was a long long day! :(

  7. If you do a search on cruise critic there's a ton of threads regarding dress codes... plus all the info is on the celebrity website,

But, to add my 2 cents worth you should really dress how you feel most comfortable, if you like to dress up to the max do it as others will, if you want to be casual every night in jeans & a polo shirt again feel free to do so as many others will do this also, plus a big selection of people will be in the middle, basically... as long as you don't wear shorts & t/shirts to the dining room in the evening you will be fine,

If you want to wear shorts the buffet does offer a great selection of food for a more casual option,

There's a lot of dress code police on here that'll tell you how bad things are these days and how they always see shorts & vests and baseball caps at dinner but people do also like to exaggerate... [emoji849]

personally I've never seen anyone at dinner that looked out of place on a celebrity ship, but saying that I don't tend to spent my time looking at others dress style

Hope you enjoy your first cruise [emoji106][emoji4]

  9. First time using luggage valet on Friday on the Equinox - it was great for us. We had 4 bags for 2 of us (it was a long trip!) & my husband is blind so it's always a bit of a hassle to lug the suitcases around. We had a connecting flight & when we got home our bags we one of the first to hit the carousel. I would definitely do it again when available (plus we had some onboard credit, so didn't feel it cost us anything).

What time did your flight leave? I ask because our flight doesn't leave until 6:10 pm, it is a non-stop flight.

  10. You put your bags out at night like usual. They take them to the airport and check them in. You get your boarding passes for your flight, the night before in your room.

If you have that much time until your flight , why not save the money and buy something to eat in the airport. This is just what I would do. Not for everyone. We used Luggage valet last time and we had a late flight and one our bags actually got delayed until the next flight arrived in Philadelphia. We got it the next morning. Luggage valet is really useful if you have a flight where you want to go right to Security check-in as soon as you enter the airport, or if you really need a porter to help with bags. . IMO!!!

Thank you, something to think about.

  11. We are on the same sailing as you and can't wait to go..

We went on Equinox last December and entertainment was hit or miss.

House band was very good, production shows - just let me say - people were coming out the theater with the same question - " what this was all about?? - hard to follow story line."

I am super excited and we are now down to 52 days to sail away!!! :):):)

  12. Awesome! Can u expand on the review? Sailing Equinox this,April with kids!! How,was food and service in MDR? Where was your cabin? We are in our early 40s with 2 kids under 11...this will be our 3rd Celebrity Cruise but nvr on Equinox.

What they said please. DH & I will be on the Equinox this March 24th.

  13. We are debating about buying rolling duffle bags both checked & carryon. Currently we have soft side checked & carryon 2 wheeled as well as 4 wheel spinner bags. I use the 4 wheeled as either 4 wheels or 2 wheels depending on where I am and found no problem using it either way. I do use packing cubes. Also I really can't lift much overhead due to a bad shoulder so my carryon currently is a back pack that fits under the seat. I try not to spend much more than $100 for checked bags and they have held up pretty well, however we drive more than fly unless we are cruising (most ports are too far to drive). My husbands previous wheeled duffle he loved & just wore it out, his biggest complaint was it tipped side ways very easily while wheeling it.

With all that said and all I have read here it looks like a wheeled duffle may be what I buy for our cruise in March (flying). A 10 night cruise & 2 nights pre cruise hotel stay. Now to decide how much I want to spend & which brand to purchase. Suggestions please!

  14. Recently upgraded our outside cabin to Aqua (yes paid the fare difference) in a guarantee stateroom. Stateroom number has been given and was curious, Is it possible to move within the same cabin category? I fully understand the premise of a guaranteed cabin, not unhappy but wouldn't mind being a little more center ship.

    Thanks

Yes you can do that. I just did it last year after my guarantee cabin # was assigned & had no problem whatsoever, a quick phone call to Celebrity took care of it.

  15. I'm in my mid-30's and DH is 40 and we loved our Celebrity Equinox cruise so much last March that we booked another one for next March! We did a different itinerary that you will have (actually, your cruise is closer to what we'll do next year with the ABC islands!), but I wrote a very detailed review of our Equinox cruise which may help give you an idea of what to expect. The link is in my signature below if you want to take a look :) Have a wonderful cruise and I hope you enjoy every minute of it!!

Really enjoyed your review, I read it a few months ago. I too had concerns about cruising on Celebrity Equinox, our first on X, this March 24th. Dana, you & several others convinced me all would be ok.
