jmdx2 Posted September 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2017 USAA Travel Insurance Has anyone had any experience with them I purchased a plan with them for my Oasis 9/10 sailing and I feel like I'm either getting the run around or no one can answer any questions. I hate to cancel to file the claim and loose the voucher too (they've told me 6 different things). Any advice is appreciated. martinchem Posted September 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2017 I often get our insurance through them, but never filed a claim, my concern would be when they ask for proof of cruise payment. We often use gift cards, future cruise certificates and vouchers toward payment and I'm not sure if USSA considers those types of payments to qualify for reimbursement. 6rugrats Posted September 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2017 OP - I note you have another thread about this issue: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=54038589#post54038589 It appears your cruise was cancelled, and the cruise line is giving you a voucher? If so, you have no loss for your cruise fare. You can't also file a claim to be reimbursed. This would be insurance fraud. The insurer will know the actions taken by the cruise line. No "double dipping." If this isn't what you're asking, please explain.

This is an interesting question, will the insurance company provide a cash refund since the cruise line will not.
picomullet Posted November 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2017 My question is similar, if you can't travel anymore, will the insurance reimburse you for the non-refundable deposit? A credit on the books will do you no good?
