hallasm Posted May 20, 2018 #51 Share Posted May 20, 2018 Was there a bar onboard and if so what were the drinks prices like There is a bar in the panorama lounge - I have only got beer and wine - Bottled Beer (0.33 litres) from NOK 75, Glass of Wine from NOK 95, and Bottle of Wine from NOK 400. Hurtigruten does have 12 ships in operation - all ships quite different - answer might not apply to all ships. Wine, beer and alcohol is expensive in Norway. Rare GeezerCouple Posted May 20, 2018 #52 Share Posted May 20, 2018 Was there a bar onboard and if so what were the drinks prices like On the Trollfjord, there was a nice bar near the forward two-story observation deck. There was lots of general comfortable seating in the bar lounge area in addition to the seating in the observation area. (I'm forgetting if the bar was on the upper or lower of those two decks.) They also had a delicious, rich hot chocolate. (The hot chocolate at the "take-out" restaurant was just a hot chocolate mix, and nothing at all in comparison.) Prices in general were high in Norway and on the ship, but we just went with the flow, so to speak. We had expected high prices. We mostly had wine at dinner, and were quite surprised to see some of the nicer wines offered by the glass. GC
digitl Posted May 20, 2018 #53 Share Posted May 20, 2018 Was there a bar onboard and if so what were the drinks prices like There is a bar and prices are higher than you will be used to in Newcastle: it's Norway with Norwegian prices. Just think about the price as a percentage of the overall cost of the trip and it won't seem to be too bad.

We have done many cruises (Around 20 now) mostly in the Caribbean although we did a Norwegian Fjords cruise but that was on a British cruise ship. I was expecting the prices to be high but wasn't sure if there was a bar onboard.
