Lotus Girl Posted August 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2018 Hi, Sailing on Journey on the 20th November 2018 - 4 night cruise to Key West & Havana where we have an overnight. Have any UK cruisers done this trip that can advise on the Visa situation? Thanks Karen
Grandma Cruising Posted August 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2018 Have a look at some of the Roll-calls for other Cuba cruises. There has been a lot of discussion about the visa situation. As I understand it everyone on-board has to have a visa and the ship gets it for you and charges you. I also understand that it doesn’t matter whether you are a U.K., a US or any other citizen, because the cruise start in the US the same rules apply to everyone. Rare little britain Posted September 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Did you ever find out about the Cuba visa rules for Brits?
Azamarajunkie Posted September 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Did you ever find out about the Cuba visa rules for Brits? We travelled on the inaugural Azamara visit to Cuba last year. Host Grandma is correct, despite UK citizens being able to purchase their own cheaper visa to Cuba, because they are transiting on a US owned ship into Cuba, they are required to have a US visa which is provided by Azamara and charged to Guests on board account. It was $70 when we did it.
NEWCRUISER176 Posted September 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2018 Hello we are on the transatlantic cruise from Lisbon and have an overnight in Cuba before docking in Miami. We don't visit any US ports before Cuba. I asked the Cuba Tourist Office in London what visa we required and was advised a Tourist card, which could be purchased from the Cuba Tourist Office before we travelled. We haven't done this yet but wondered whether this would be acceptable to Azamara? Any advice would be welcome. Thank you Marylyne .
