Questions re: Adventure of the Seas

Sailed on Voyager back in 2005. Have since sailed Carnival 1x and NCL 2x. Booked Adventure for a year from now, as the Canada/New England itinerary is on our bucket list and we honeymooned on the Voyager & loved it. Want our kids, who will be 9 and 11 at sailing, to experience a tad smaller ship than NCL Escape & Bliss (which we all loved, by the way). So...do they still offer onboard laundry facilities for guests? And since it has been awhile, what activities does this ship offer for our kids. We didn't have kids on Voyager, but still enjoyed rock wall, ice rink, ice shows & promenade. Still do parades on promenade deck?

No self-service laundry or ironing facilities, but there is a laundry/dry cleaning/pressing service.

Adventure has been upgraded with a Flowrider and both kiddie and adult slides.

We just did that cruise with our 11 year old and had a blast. The water slides we’re a huge hit. Movies by the pool were fun but a bit chilly so bundle up. We enjoyed the evening shows and a few trivia. He isn’t a big kids club fan so didn’t go but we did do the family activities like family bingo. The 2 story mini golf is tricky! And it was fun to watch the belly flop and sexy man competition without the crazy hot sun we normally have.

A pre bed snack of pizza from promenade was a hit.

Thanks for your replies. We can't wait for our kids to experience the ship. We never make use of the kids clubs, either. Excited to explore the Canada/New England itinerary. We are Canadians from Ontario and are enjoying cruises to visit parts of our own country that would otherwise take 3-4 days to drive to. Just got off an Alaskan cruise yesterday. We would all do it again in a heartbeat!

Regarding tipping: we prepaid these on NCL. On our honeymoon on Royal we paid these at the end using envelopes provided. Is that still the system Royal uses?

No, Royal does not use the vouchers anymore. If you don't prepay tips, Royal automatically adds the suggested gratuity to your onboard account daily. They do give you a couple of envelopes at the end of the cruise in case you want to give more.

We cruised Adventure this past July with our two daughter (8 and 3). Our 8 year old loved the water slides, mini golf, Johnny Rockets, pool, arcade, ice skating rink and adventure ocean. She and I also did the origami class together as well and she enjoyed that too.

The Adventure has an excellent program for your children.

This much I can say - if they sign up - you will not be able to get them out of there - the kids just love it - the staff is beyond excellent.
