Solo Cruiser's Roll Call

The complaints that I have read about the Epic usually revolve around the odd bathrooms in the balcony cabins and the smoking in the casino. For these 2 issues... I'm in a studio so I don't care about the balcony cabins. Lol. And for the smoking in the casino it is no different than any of the other 5 ships that I have been on.

I went last March and I had a great time. though I do wish the ship had the waterfront like the getaway, breakaway, escape. But the pools are sooo much better on the Epic. Also the adults area at the back of the ship has a small pool which is nice. Do you have any questions that I can help with?

One thing, make sure to go to the studio lounge for drinks around 530, people will be gathered there every evening and we would all go to dinner together.

Thanks!!

Just booked a cruise on the new Celebrity Edge. They are offering some new 3-night cruises to the Bahamas for November and December. I booked one of the Edge Single Staterooms with Infinite Veranda. Glad to see they have rooms for solo travelers.

NCL Epic, western Mediterranean, April 25 from Rome. The ship also boards passengers at Barcelona, and so this sailing overlaps with the April 22 and April 29 departures from Barcelona. I've posted on the roll calls for all three about some shore tours.

Wish i could go. There is NO single supplement for an inside. Enjoy the cruise!

Yah, there was a time a few days ago that there was no single supplement, and inside guarentees were going for $399 (!). It was only up for a few hours, so I almost think it was a mistake. Skyrocketed back up to over $1500 before the day was out, though.

Sparkmaster, I'm going to be sailing on the Jade in April. You'll have to let me know what you think.

You bet. I've only been on the Getaway and Escape, so I'll see how the Jade compares.

I like the Jade. was just on her in Oct. For me its a good size ship with a good floor plan. Like Gem.

I have 3 cruises in the future (technically), all on the same ship. I don't know how that happened.

I'm booked on the NCL Jade from Southampton to Norway (August-September), but prior to that, I'm doing the 2-day repositioning from Hamburg, albeit in a different cabin. Then I'm doing the Star Trek cruise next January. XD My cabin for Star Trek will be down the corridor from my Norway cabin. I'll probably get confused.

That infinite veranda Celebrity cabin looks sweet, I must say (posted by cruisebrotha06). It'd never be worth it for me, but still, I wouldn't say no. :-)

I paid $749 for a guaranteed inside cabin but cannot remember what the pp price was for double occupancy. Maybe $599 or so. I was looking at the new solo ocean view cabin; however that was like $1,049. I can not justify $300 for a small window. Although I am hoping for an upgrade with the guaranteed room [emoji6]

Thx for the info. Sounds like HA doesn’t charge the full 100% like other lines do.

I’m going on an Alaskan cruise in September solo and am paying the full price; however, it was on sale so I’m fine with it. Guess it all depends on the itinerary and how far out it is...

from what i've studied, Holland sometimes does charge the full 100%, but not as often as other lines. Maybe because a lot of their clientele is older and don't have spouses anymore. Maybe.
