Food on Ships, Chargeable?

I'm looking at a first time cruise, to South America with Imagine.

Basic question, do in general prices include food on the ship?

Yes all meals in regular cruiseships are included. You will have a diningroom with service, but also a buffet with self service. Also coffee, tea, water, icetea and some limonades are free at the buffet. Alcohol is extra as are excursions (which you can often arrange yourself or with other passengers).

Atnight there often is a free nice show in the theatre.

If you go to the site of the cruise line that you are interested in, you should be able to see the price of the specialty restaurants in case you are interested in dining there one night. Some of them are very good reasonably priced.

The general answer is: yes, meals are included. You will find, however, that the quality of the included meals differs widely among cruise lines - with, as a general rule, the least expensive lines serving the least attractive included meals. Most lines offer alternative dining - at additional cost.
