Window Suites on the Grand Princess

Quick question from those that have stayed in a WS on the Grand. I know that they are next to the casino, but I figured that with the wall then hallway and then another wall/door, that there wouldn't be any problem with noise from there? I heard the biggest problem was early in the morning with the joggers above us on deck 7. Thanks for any input you may have. I am looking forward to just a relaxing cruise and this is my first time in a WS and am looking forward to suite perks that I would never experience if it weren't for the existence of WS's.

I stayed in F301 I believe. It is the smallest of the Window Suites. I never heard any noise from joggers, and nothing from the hallway. I am a light sleeper and often have to sleep with earplugs, but I didn't in this suite. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.

It’s been A LONG time since we stayed in a ws. But I vividly remember the sound of joggers on the promenade deck above us. There were notices on the walls asking people to avoid jogging in the area during certain hours...but I doubt anyone saw them. We also experienced a loud banging metallic noise. At one point I thought a door above us had come unfastened and was banging open and shut. Upon inspection, it was not the case. I think it may have been the stabilizers...but I’m not positive.

We have been in two different WS on the Golden, F307 and F315, and F311 on the Grand. No joggers noise on the 24 days in those cabins. We had stabilizer noise in F307. We had some rough seas for a night in F311 and as the ship moved the walls creaked and groaned, especially the wall at the head of our bed. When the seas settled down the noise disappeared. The cabins were added later and are probably less rigid than original cabins.

We have enjoyed Window Suites on the Grand - both Hawaii cruise and California Coastal. Some mornings we did here the clomping of joggers. Often we heard the background sound of the slot machines. We are from Vegas so it was not that distracting. These cabins are in the center of the ship and good for my DWs occasional bouts of motion disorientation. Very close to the atrium and Club Class dining. The Princess theater is just down the hall. We avoid the suite closest to the bow and the smoking lounge. The promenade is a short jaunt. Pricing is usually very attractive and the perks have been nice. These cruises accelerated our advancement to Elite (and free laundry).

We have been in the Window Suites on the Golden Princess F309 and the Caribbean Princess F305--the only noise we heard was on the Caribbean on night in really rough seas going around the northern tip of Scotland was the stabilizers. Love the location and the perks. Did not miss the balcony.

We've stayed in F307 on Grand (Golden & Caribbean for that matter) a total of 6 times, never any noise complaints, joggers or otherwise. Probably the best thing I can say, is we're holding two bookings in F307 & F309 for spring '19 - obviously we weren't scared off. I personally would avoid F301 as it is very close to the smoking lounge and the doorway in between is frequently propped open - others might not see this as an issue.

We just stayed in the window suites on the Grand a couple of months ago and booked the same cabin, along with one next door for our neighbors for next year. Great rooms, no noise, excellent location.

We actually had some knocking noise in our room early in the cruise but my DH discovered it was the umbrellas hanging in the closet were hitting against the insides of the closet. He fixed that and no more noises.

We could actually hear the machines from the casino when in the hallway but never inside the cabin. BEST ROOMS EVER! The only problem with them is you will be spoiled and be looking for one of these cabins every time you cruise.

BTW, we stayed in F311 and booked the same cabin for next time around as well.
