I was wondering if anyone has recently stayed in room 1268 on Explorer.

Was there a lot of noise being under the pool deck?

Could people see your deck from above?

Was it a far walk to the elevator?

Does anyone have any pictures of the actual room, bathroom and/or deck?

Thank you! :)

Stayed in 1274 - three doors down. No noise to complain about at all. This was one of our favorite staterooms. The room is very spacious with a large bath as well as a large balcony. The baconies are flush with the side of the ship - no one can see on your deck from above. You will be closer to the front elevator bank than the rear, but neither are that far of a walk.

The following link will provide pictures and description of the staterooms.

All balconies are covered by the deck above.....it's almost impossible to see into the balcony below you without hanging over the railing.

We've never been bothered by noise from the pool deck....you'll actually hear more from the hallways (anywhere on the ship) than from above!

I have been researching different cabins and came across this old thread. This info isn't correct. Not all balconies are covered by an overhang. I don't want others to think that it is in case they don't want an overhang. The info below was taken from cruisedeckplans and after looking at ship pictures and diagrams this is correct.

  • There is a small overhang from the pool deck above that will cause some shade on balcony cabins 1570 to 1612 and 1270 to 1312
  • There is another small overhang from the deck above that effects cabin 1544 and forward on the port side and cabins 1244 and forward on the starboard side. These overhangs do give some extra protection from rain
