We arrive October 24th 2018 for three nights in NYC, then boarding NCL Breakaway.

Its our first time in the city, any good advices for a reasonable 4**** hotel and for the best transport service from airport to Manhattan?

Thank you veryy much

There are many hotels in NYC that will probably suite your needs. Others may give you their suggestions. As to transportation from JFK, either yellow taxis or car service ..... Dial 7 and Carmel are popular.

Taxis are generally available outside the terminal and a dispatcher coordinates the pickups.

John F. Kennedy International Airport

- The TLC has established a "Flat Fare" program for trips to and from JFK and Manhattan. The flat fare is $52.00 plus any tolls. Additionally, a $4.50 rush hour surcharge applies to all JFK flat fares on weekdays between the hours of 4 PM and 8 PM. There is no set fare to or from JFK to any point in New York City outside of Manhattan, and the metered rate app

What is your hotel budget in US dollars? How many people? October is high season in NYC.

Are you flying into JFK?

The European star system really doesn’t apply in the US. With some minor exceptions, pretty much any full service hotel will meet 90%+ of the 4-star standards.

Budget and dates will drive recommendations. If you’re looking for top of the line accommodations and budget doesn’t matter, you’ll get one set of recommendations. With a budget, you may get a different set. It’s also helpful to know if you’re looking for a chain, like Marriott or Hilton, or a more boutique experience.

You can take the Long Island RR to Penn Station (midtown. a few blocks south of time square). From there is can either be a short walk or cab ride to your hotel depending on which one you pick. (or the option of taking the subway. but some folks don't like the hassle. doesn't bother me, but it does others)

One caution about public transportation, especially the subway, is that, aside from the airtrain, it's not really built for luggage. If I have multiple and/or large bags, I'm not going to want to deal with crowded cars and subway steps.
