MaiTaiMary Posted March 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2018 I want to purchase some Carnival gift cards, but on the Carnival site, they are only in $100 dominations. Is there anywhere else I can purchase them online? Looking for three $25 gift cards. Thanks.

A couple of years ago 100 became the lowest denomination available. If you know the booking number you can buy Cruise Cash through Carnival's Fun Shops, I think starting at 25. That will go directly on the recipients shipboard account as a nonrefundable credit.
Jeni99 Posted March 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2018 You can buy carnival gifts cards at Lowes and you decide the amount you put on them.... if you have one near you?
Bostwick girl Posted March 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2018 I recently tried that at Lowes, but the smallest amount it would accept was $100. At Christmas, my Lowes had 3 of the $25 cards so I grabbed them up. When we checked out, they wouldn't go thru. The cashier tried it several different ways, but wouldn't work. Wish they would bring the $25 back. Cruise Cash is ok, but it is non refundable if you don't use it on the particular cruise you are on.

IMHO, it is just like cash and/or using a Carnival gift card and should be refunded if not used. What am I missing?

What am I missing? It states specifically on the cruise cash they are good for that sailing they were purchased on only. It is the main reason why I decided NOT to do cruise cash and will just bring along some gift cards instead. What am I missing? I'm guessing you can use your cruise cash in the Casino and that should make it refundable, Play a few penny slot pulls and cash out. wemjam Posted March 19, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 19, 2018 Many people have posted about getting their cruise cash "cashed out" buying using the casino. Putting it on their cards/account playing a few small slots and then cashing out. This is doable. Personally, this is why I don't buy cruise cash and stick with gift cards as I don't want to have to take any extra steps just to get my money back and only apply exactly what I need to last night on the ship from my gift cards. Organized Chaos Posted March 19, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 19, 2018 Here's a few of the retail locations Carnival provides: approximately 9,000 retail locations including Kroger, Giant Eagle, Hyvee, Price Chopper, Safeway, Meijer, Albertsons, Lowes, Winn Dixie Office Max, Publix I've read about others buying $25 & $50 cards at the retail locations in the past, but judging by Bostwick girl's experience at Lowe's, it kind of sounds like they've discontinued their lower denomination cards. If you order directly from Carnival, it has to be $100-$1,000. You could always sign up for the AARP Rewards for Good program to earn points that can go towards the 10% off Carnival cards, but the lowest denomination you can get is $100 (costs $90). You don't have to be a member of AARP to do it. There's several threads about the discounted Carnival cards on these boards.
