Selecting a cabin on the Zaandam

New to ocean cruising, new to Holland. Am considering doing their South America trip. Thinking about a cabin on the Verandah Deck, but would there be too much noise from Upper Promenade below? Should I go up one deck to Navigation deck? Also I am looking at midship cabins because I think there is less chance of seasickness, more stable, etc.

Thank you.

That could depend very much on where your cabin is located on Veranda Deck. If you are between the forward and mid-ship elevators, especially on starboard side, you will be over the lounges, where there are music venues until later in the evening. Port side is under the Casino, but ends a little before the mid-ship elevators.

Now, from the mid-ship elevators to the aft elevators should be quiet enough, especially port side.

Anywhere between the forward and aft elevators will be a smoother ride than the ends of the ship. The forward end tends to be 'bumpier' than the aft.
