AK Dreaming Posted September 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2018 Can I get a taxi from the ship to the train station in Civitavecchia. I want to take the train into Rome but would prefer not to wait for the free shuttle to a place to get a taxi to get a train. CruiserBruce Posted September 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2018 (edited) You are confusing at the side of the ship, for the entrance to the port. In the case of Rome, I am not sure I would expect a taxi at the side of the ship. At the main gate to the port, yes, but at the side of the ship, no. There are many threads about getting from ship to train station . Are you asking about getting off the ship at the end of your cruise with luggage, or going into Rome on a port day? Bobal Posted September 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2018 If I'm right in thinking what your are asking you cannot get a taxi from right next to the ship. There are no taxis which line up by the ship or by the stop where the port bus drops you. There will be cars by the place where the port bus drops you but they want to take you on tours, they will not take you the short distance to the station. Your only option to get to the station is to get the port bus out of the port and then either get the bus which runs between the port bus stop and the station or else walk to the station. Rare Hlitner Posted September 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2018 There are often some taxis waiting near the pier but they will usually refuse a short fare to the train station. I guess if you offered them 50 Euros they would change their mind. :) Hank
