Which cabins have better views.......pretty much know you can't looks straight down because of lifeboats in the way...........but are there any special cabin number locations that really allow you to look down and still have a nice view.....meaning are cabins on the extreme end of the deck better or will there be some kind of ladder in the way for washing windows etc.

If you are going with a 2e decks 7 and 8 might be better. Deck 6 2e cabins have the top of the lifeboat at the same level as the top railing on the glass, or if there is no life boat you are looking into the cafe below. Try google images for cabin numbers and obstructed views. We are booked in cabin 8560 on Ovation which is priced as mid ship with a view straight down to the water, might not be worth trying to save a hundred dollars or so and be unhappy.

Yes, you are probably right, better to spend a few extra bucks and not have to worry about it. Cabin is for my son who is looking to cruise with some of his buddies out of Cape Liberty.

Agree views from "porthole" ob's on decks 7 and 8 aren't actually obstructed. Being semi-enclosed limits opportunity for tanning on the verandah.

There are a number of lengthy threads on this subject with lots of diagrams and pics. Why not assign picking a winner to your son as a project.

Hint: check out 6162 - extended balcony with clear view down length of ship.
