Motorcycle Gma Posted September 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Aloha! Any locals on here that can tell me the predictions for Maui? We are scheduled to arrive on a flight Wednesday afternoon, which is of course, when the storm is suppose to be arriving. Any advice on what your local news is predicting. I hope it's like Lane/Norman and weakens, but I'm feeling like my trip will be delayed at least a day or more. Are airports going to be open?? I looked at Glenn's Hawaii local weather forecast and he is saying 100% chance of rain on Tuesday, Wednesday and maybe Thursday, with rain lightening up to 40% on the weekend. Will that mean spotty tropical rain or rain all day, anyone?? I have to decide by Tuesday morning whether to cancel -- luckily, I have cancellation insurance. Good luck to all and lets hope these hurricanes subside. Mahalo
CruiserBruce Posted September 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2018 It is predicted to weaken to a tropical storm. I would expect steady rainfall for much of that time you state, although the east sides of the islands will probably get more, perhaps far more, than the west sides.
