Currency on board from an Italian Port

As far as I know, only Spain has been charging VAT on purchases on board, if sailing from Spain, and there is a way around that- has to do with where the ship stops...needing to stop outside the EU.

 

The currency on board will depend on the cruise line. US/American oriented ships will use USD.
