Already discussed here a week or so ago.

 

Oops! (I don't check CC while cruising ;^) :cool:

 

 

If it wasn't in that thread, apparently the motivating factor was that TWC wasn't maintaining

the slopes above Skagway's "Railroad Docks" properly, and landslides last year left only two

berths in service.

Might be true, but the ultimate motivating factor is whether they felt they could generate profits to add to the bottom line. With roughly 15 ships in and out of the Alaskan market, Carnival Corp has a lot they can feed to this venture.

Yup.

 

But what I was referring to was that Skagway apparently --errm-- encouraged TWC to find a buyer.
