Nice/Eze/Monaco Bus 100 Schedule

Recommended Posts

From other posts, I've learned that bus 100 is the bus to know about; it goes from Nice to Eze Village (avoiding the walk from the train) and to Monaco. The bus seems preferable to the train, which apparently stops down the hill from Eze (yes, there's a bus there, but why transfer?) and also seems to be more prone to strikes and schedule issues.

But I'm having trouble locating the schedule, which according to various posts should be at http://www.cg06.fr/tam-html/menu.html

But the lines available there are 102 and higher. Have they changed bus numbers, or is the schedule itself moved elsewhere? And is a schedule really needed, or is the bus frequent enough that you can just wait at the appropriate stops?

I've been trying everywhere to find this information. Other listed sites never seem to work, but rca.tm.fr was great. I don't read French, but it's easy to find your way around. Now I finally have maps and schedules. We're ready to go!!:)

Can you take the 100 bus from the ship (Villefranche) and travel directly to Monte Carlo and then back track to Eze and then Nice.

Is it possible to do the above trek and also take in St. Paul or are we really stretching it. We don't plan on spending a lot of time in Nice, mainly a walk along the waterfront boardwalk.

Is it quicker to just take the train from Villefrance to Monte Carlo and then bus it back to Eze etc.?

Goldenprincess53,

1. France doesn't have boardwalks.

2. You asked a lot of questions about whether a lot of destinations were possible on your trip. However you forgot to say how long your trip lasted.

It looks like you need to use two different bus lines to do a trip from Villefranche to Monaco (#100) Monaco to Eze (#112) and then from Eze back to Villefranche you'll need to get from the village of Eze down the mountain to the train station and take the train back to Villefranche. My french is limited, but it looks like anything that has "sur mer" in the name is down by the water (#100) and anything with "col de" is up the mountainside (#112). From the bus/train schedules there doesn't appear to be much difference in travel time from the two modes of transport.

Missed that you wanted to continue on to Nice from Eze and then to Villefranche. Looks like from Eze you would continue on the #112 to Nice and then from Nice back to Villefranche on the #100.

Thanks for the info. Someone told me they have visit the waterfront area in Nice and referred to it as a boardwalk.

We are only in VF for the day, with ship sailing in later evening. The train and bus info is great - thanks. This site is terrific for information gathering. Wish I had known about it for previous cruises.

It is the Promenade Des Anglais, (Walk of the English) - the construction of this long boulevard along the famous Nice beaches was originally paid for by money collected from wealthy English tourists who spent their English winters in Nice in the early 19th century. What was once just a foot and carriage path is now a busy thoroughfare which offers the best access to the beaches of Nice.

Vivre Les Anglais!

I think trying to go to Nice, Monaco and Eze all in a day is daft unless all you want to do is cross them off of your list.

We'll be in Villefranche on a Sunday. We planned on taking the train into Monaco, bus 112 from Monaco to Eze, then something from Eze back to Villefranche (not sure yet). Here's the question: Does Bus 112 run on Sundays? My french is non-existent but I believe on the schedule "du Lundi au Samedi" translates to "I see a taxi in your future". Am I correct?

Jeff, thanks for the link, however, you say "yes" but the translation is Monday to Saturday. Are you sure?

Lynn, (if your still out there somewhere)

Just used this post to finish up the planning for Villefrance for our cruise this May. Thank you so much for going to the trouble of giving out the links to the bus lines! You made it so easy.

We will be there from 7am till 11pm. We plan on going to Eze first, as we are going to walk down the Nitz. Path (weather permitting!). So we want to do this before it gets too hot. Since there does not appear to be a bus from Villefrance straight to the village, we are planning on taking the train from VF to Eze, the 83 bus up to the village, then after walking around in Eze will walk down the Path. Then we will grab the train to Nice, and enjoy a late lunch. Expect to head back to VF late afternoon, so we will take the # 100 bus. We will go back on the ship where we plan on a quick change (dress up a little) and back to the #100 bus for a trip to Monaco for the evening. The guys want to go to the casino. Back to VF via (the last trip at 8:30 pm) # 100 bus. And dinner in VF or on the ship. All subject to change, of course, depending on weather and our mood!

But whatever we do, the bus schedules are invaluable.

Just one question, do you remember where the bus station for the #100 bus is located in VF and Nice?. I know where it is in Monaco.

Thanks again.

The V.F. bus stop is called L'Octroi. Here is link to a map: http://www-luan.unice.fr/colloqueUAI/planvil.JPG

It shows the bus and SNCF stops.

The dock that we tendered into was Porte De La Sante right at the Old Town (La Vielle Ville) and it took about 10 minutes to walk (uphill) to the bus stop, which is close to the TI.
