Queen Mary 2 in Picton today - 17 March 2015

Is she docked or is she at anchor ?

Its hard to say...., but I think she is docked, as the webcam picture has not moved much.

She was docked. Here is a photo from Stuff showing her at the log wharf in Picton. The wharf is a commercial one for the export of logs, and being a working port , passengers are not permitted to walk through and are shuttled the short distance to the town.

This shows the wharf just after we departed on Voyager OTS on March 2

Thank you for the excellent photo. The wharf certainly looks big enough to handle the bigger ships. It will be a real boon to the cruise industry and the Marlborough region.

I had only seen the facilities on the other side of the hill for the ferries so all that is new to me.

These are the gangway arrangements waiting to be set up for our visit on Voyager.

The shuttle bus service into the town coped admirably with the 3300-odd pax plus crew. Although there was quite a line to return to the ship, it moved steadily.
