dickens56 Posted March 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Can anyone suggest a hotel they used in S.F. for a cruise? Preferably one that lets you leave your car while you are cruising on Princess.
toescat Posted March 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2017 (edited) I live near San Francisco and every time we have stayed in the city we had to pay for parking. It cost roughly $24 per night. One posted on my roll call suggested staying in Oakland. Another poster is staying in So San Francisco at the Oyster Point hotel and they offer park in stay up to two weeks. They pay 45 dollars to take a cab to the pier. Edited March 6, 2017 by toescat duplicate work.
Yosef42 Posted March 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2017 The parking lot that the port and Princess recommend is $16/day for a regular sized vehicle. "Cheap parking" and "San Francisco" are not phrases that go together.
wheezedr Posted March 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Can anyone suggest a hotel they used in S.F. for a cruise? Preferably one that lets you leave your car while you are cruising on Princess. Unless you are planning on staying at an airport hotel and getting into the SF cruise port (pier 27) from there you will not be able to do a park and stay. No hotels in the city itself do that. As others have pointed out there are some lots near the port which have rates for cruisers.
jennypuccinelli Posted March 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2017 We typically stay at the Courtyard Marriott by the wharf for a couple days before the cruise. No long term parking but we park at one of the lots the port recommends. I think it's 800 Francisco? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

JWUC Posted March 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2017 There may be some hotels near SFO (San Francisco Airport) that allow you to leave a car. You can take BART from the airport to the Embarcadero station. From the Embarcadero station you can 1.catch a cab at the Hyatt to the pier (about 1 mile journey), or 2. take Muni F train or 3. Uber/Lyft or 4. walk.
liketraveling Posted April 14, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Check out and See if any of the Airport hotels in south San Francisco or Burlingame offer a parking package such as Fly and park that usually is a package with one night stay and park while you are away. Use a hotel that has a free airport shuttle to the airport. From the airport you could pick up a super shuttle to the pier.
PacificaBev Posted April 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 23, 2017 I live on the SF peninsula and the Best Western El Rancho near SFO offers free parking (up to 2 weeks I think) with a paid stay at the hotel. Taxi will probably cost $50 to Pier 27, but Lyft would be closer to $30. http://www.elranchoinn.com/#gref Enjoy San Francisco before your cruise! always_cruisin Posted April 29, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 29, 2017 We always stay at the Best Western El Rancho and use their park and cruise. It's super easy and convenient. Then we either use a taxi, uber or lyft to the pier and back. Or you could use the hotel shuttle to SFO and use the cruise line transfer service.
