dan722 Posted September 7, 2009 #26 Share Posted September 7, 2009 I'm curious how they will be looking through a telescope at stars/planets/whatever on a moving ship. the email does mention this. It's hard enough trying to do this in my backyard on a moving planet.

dkjretired Posted September 7, 2009 #28 Share Posted September 7, 2009 I posted this on Sept 2nd but no one seemed very intrigued by the new offerings: Got a new e-mail today about new programs to be offered on board-- classes, scrapbooking, computers, language lessons, dancing, most with a fee. But the star gazer series looks like it is free & seems really nice--Hope its on our cruise this month! ("Stargeezer" ???)http://www.celebritycruises.com/whyc...&SRC=PGI330056 Hope the link works! from the e-mail : Stargeezer Series Stargazers will be inspired to stare skyward as they learn about astronomy, telescope tips, and even celestial navigation through Celebrity's new alliance with Stargeezer, a program devoted to educating you about astronomy. The Basics • Welcome to the Stars • Today in the Sky: Daily updates in Celebrity Today • Reading the Sky: Basics about the Telescope and Astronomy Equipment The Social Astronomer • The Stargazer's Party out on deck • Star Hunt: Team event to find the evening's planets and stars • Navigation: How the ship's team charts its course I don't believe that people would be upset, I had always thought the word geezer was used as an endearing term. You did take it directly from the web site and was not a misprint. There will be no change by Celebrity since this is taken from a group which advances astronomy. Here's a link to their site.. http://stargeezeradio.com/starblog/
dkjretired Posted September 7, 2009 #29 Share Posted September 7, 2009 I had read somewhere that the language programs are supposed to be put on by Rosetta Stone which has a pretty good reputation..
FinelyCruising Posted September 7, 2009 Author #30 Share Posted September 7, 2009 In the event you don't have the newsletter yet, here are more details of some of the other programs: Renew Yourself Relaxation, refreshment, and the opportunity to Renew. With the launch of Celebrity Life, we have transformed the spa experience with new and unanticipated options for guests to explore personal well-being and embrace positive lifestyle enhancements to help them feel better, live longer, and look younger. Redefining the Celebrity spa experience, Renew provides the most beneficial balance of indulgence and wellness by concentrating on three areas of enrichment: "Ageless," "Energy," and "Longevity." For each area of the program, we have developed an exciting and innovative range of beauty and wellness options that empower our guests to pursue their individual goals both during the journey and beyond. Whether you want to achieve youthfully radiant skin, feel invigorated, live healthier, or all three, Renew is your lifelong guide to beauty and wellness. It may be the yoga class that helps you find your center. Or the energizing Tour de Cycle session that burns calories while inspiring a refreshing afternoon swim. It might be the Couples Massage class that helps you bond with someone special to take a deep breath. And it could be the Elemis® Oxydermy Facial that makes you feel young again. De Colores Posted October 12, 2009 #31 Share Posted October 12, 2009 Does anyone know what the costs might be for some of the digital series classes. I was interested in several in that series, especially the language one. Just curious if it will be something worth doing if the price is reasonable. Thanks for the site with the Solstice Daily Today's for the Caribbean. It has a few of the islands we will visit on the Equinox.
