You cannot rent a waverunner and go off on your own. I am pretty sure that the reason for that is they don't want people making landfall outside of the private area and deciding to talk a walk in the country side of Haiti.

As mentioned before, RCI is the only game in town. The cost is $99 and 2 people can go on the waverunner. It's still $99 if only one person goes.

 

The people who guide the excursions are nice and help you get good pictures of your group while on the waverunners. My kids loved it--except for the bruises! The waves were 4-8 feet that day (didn't look rough at all), and they were sore for a couple of weeks.
