tommyandmissy Posted January 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2005 Anyone know if you can rent waverunners at the beach that are not part of the tour given by RCL. If so, cost info would be great! Thanks!
cruisinfanatic Posted January 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2005 Don't believe so. Only tours.
Ocean Boy Posted January 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2005 You cannot rent a waverunner and go off on your own. I am pretty sure that the reason for that is they don't want people making landfall outside of the private area and deciding to talk a walk in the country side of Haiti. rprehoda Posted January 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2005 You can rent a wave runner on your own but you will be part of a supervised group. If I remember right, it cost about $100 per person.
hdawson Posted January 1, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2005 You can only purchase activities from Royal Caribbean. Wave runners, parasailing, banana boat rides, etc. No other vendors are allowed into the compound.
Chicagomom Posted January 1, 2005 #6 Share Posted January 1, 2005 As mentioned before, RCI is the only game in town. The cost is $99 and 2 people can go on the waverunner. It's still $99 if only one person goes. The people who guide the excursions are nice and help you get good pictures of your group while on the waverunners. My kids loved it--except for the bruises! The waves were 4-8 feet that day (didn't look rough at all), and they were sore for a couple of weeks.
