Discover Card widely accepted in Greece?

I learned yesterday that my Discover card has the best foreign exchange rate of all my cards...but I'm wondering if it is widely accepted in Greece (and Italy). Anyone out there know if it is? I normally only use mine for Internet purchases - it's my designated Web card. Help, and thanks!

Leave the Discover card at home.

 

We were told before we left that it was not accepted in Europe and found it to be true.

 

Mastercard and Visa - everywhere

American Express - many places we found took ours (altho you will hear others say it is not accepted much) We always use our AE first.

I agree. I have never seen Discover accepted anywhere outside the U.S. Try Capital One for a viable alternative.

Agreed. Discover isn't good in Europe. BTW, make sure the card you use has a 4-digit PIN.

Get a capital one card!

 

My experience has been all cards offer very similar exchange, the difference is the "exchange" fee they charge. I guess you can lump them all into the final effective exchange.

 

As much as I like Discover they aren't accepted almost anywhere but in the US.
