SueG Posted September 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Arrived at the port around 11 and was on the ship within 10 minutes. Room was ready around 1PM. I was in the Aquamarine Grand Suite, room 1036. A few things happened the first day that put a bit of a damper on the cruise. Just a bit, did not ruin my cruise. First, I find out they switched my suite from port side to starboard side. I was never informed of this change from the TA who booked this cruise. I was with my company on this cruise. Just another reason why I always book directly when I vacation. The room was wonderful. The balcony was very large and we spent most of our time there. I recieved a bottle of Korbel and a fruit tray our first night. Second night, a small cheese tray with some fruit. There was not a coffee press in our room. In it's place was a small ONE CUP coffee pot with pre-made coffee filters that made more than one cup of coffee. Which resulted in very strong coffee. They really need to have smaller coffee filters or a larger pot to make the coffee. Tea was in the room, but I never used it while I was there. Second, It took me all day to finally find our room steward. I wanted to make sure all my clothes were pressed for the next day. Finally ran into her late that evening. Our room was only made up one night while I was there. Found that strange. Still left her an extra ten bucks. She was nice when I did see her. ha ha ha Third, My dining time was completely messed up. I received a email asking when I wanted to dine, and another one confirming what I requested. When I got on the ship, they did not have any record of any of the emails. We decided to dine in our room the first night. Everyday the room steward would put the diner menu in the room. I loved having that option. Also, having the ability to order a hot breakfast in our room every morning was wonderful! The next day I was contacted by the Restaurant Operations Coordinator who cleared up the mess on our dining time. We only ate in the dining room once. Anyone wanting to do My Time Dining, I suggest table 222. It is a table for two ,next to the window with a great waiter. Sorry, can't remember his name. The food, well, cruise food. Not great, not bad. The buffet food in the windjammer was not good. I just could not eat it at all. Keep in mind, I do not like buffets. My partner found it to be fine. For the first time I was able to go on a bridge tour. I was very excited. It was great to see the bridge. This was on Sunday at 4PM. Grand Suite info..... They had free wine or champagne in one of the rooms. I can't remember where. I am pretty sure the time was 5 to 6 every evening. You would also receive 25% off other drinks or sodas. I never went. Platinum and Platinum Plus members were also invited. Also, they had a section reserved in the A Chorus Line Theatre. You had to be there 15 minutes before the start of the show to get one of these seats. Did not go there either. :) The ship was just beautiful for being how old it really is. All the furniture and carpeting looked brand new. It was a very pretty ship. My best advice is when you go to CoCo Cay ask for your CoCoLoco to be made with Coconut rum. It was so much better made this way. The one thing I did not like at all was the way they mixed their frozen drinks. I do not remember it being this way before. They never mixed their alcohol with the frozen part of the drink. So....it would take a few minutes to mix it together. It became too much of a hassle and I stopped drinking because of this. I really didn't need those calories anyways. ha ha ha Casino, won 80 dollars on the slots. I took the money and ran. Great short trip! Would do it again. Any Qestions just ask. Please keep in mind, I really did not do much while on the ship. I was in bed by 11 every evening.

CruisinManiac Posted September 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Did you get a bridge tour because you were in a GS? Do you remember the names of any of the cruise director staff?
SueG Posted September 30, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Did you get a bridge tour because you were in a GS? Do you remember the names of any of the cruise director staff? They told me, all suite guests, platinum and platinum plus get the invitation. There was only about 20 of us that showed up. She told me they do this on every sailing. I do not remember any of the cruise director staff. Also, Johnny Rockets was very greasy this time. I could not even eat the food. My partner ate all of it though. He'll eat anything. ;) Also, Departure was a breeze. If you carry your own luggage you can get off the ship by 7:15. If you have them take your luggage, you will have to wait until 8 until the luggage appears. We made the mistake of leaving our one suitcase out the night before and had to wait until 8 to get it. After that, we just walked right through customs. Easiest I have ever had.
kc320 Posted September 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Are you sure the evening reception wasn't for Diamond & Diamond Plus? As far as I know they haven't added a Platinum Plus level to C&A...

As far as I know they haven't added a Platinum Plus level to C&A... I am not 100% sure. I thought I brought that paper home with me, but now I can't seem to find it. If I do, I will let you know exactly what it says.

SueG Posted September 30, 2009 Author #11 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Where was the "Concierge" Lounge on the Majesty? Did you say it was in one of the rooms? I do not remember the location. I do not even think it was considered a "concierge Lounge". It was just used for one hour for drinks starting at 5.
Pumbaamd Posted September 30, 2009 #12 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Majesty has no CL. There is a one hour happy hour up in the Viking Crown lounge for Diamond and D+ and suite guests from 5 to 6. Wine and champagne was free, 25% off other drinks. On our last Majesty cruise the Bridge Tour was for suite guests and D+. SueG Posted October 1, 2009 Author #16 Share Posted October 1, 2009 Here are some photos of the GS. I hope I did this right. Our Balcony... Neighbors Balcony. I was trying to get a picture of the whole thing. The balconies are much bigger than they look in the photos. The suite, after we messed it up... sorry... I would LOVE a bridge tour and will be on the Majesty in a few weeks in a GS. But we have had a fullsuite for 4 other RCCL cruises over the past 6 years and NEVER received an invite for a bridge tour. Pretty excited if this is the case!:D

Pumbaamd Posted October 29, 2009 #19 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Not shore if this is a standard tour on MJ. It was our first time as D+ on MJ. Booking the GS, you should find the C&A LA, Rene Pierrus, when you board and check out your chances of a Bridge Tour. Rene is on Deck 7, close to Boleros. It might just work for you. Have fun on MJ! smw0621 Posted October 29, 2009 #20 Share Posted October 29, 2009 Sue, what islands did you visit? We'll be on the Majesty the end of January for a 4 night Bahama's cruise visiting Nassau, CocoCay and Key West. If those were the islands you were at what did you do there? Thanks!
