Living in Paradise Posted October 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2009 What's the best ship to go on for a cruise to Israel? Greece? I'd like to see Israel for a few days, and then go to Greece and the Greek Isles. Living in Paradise! ;)
paul929207 Posted October 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2009 Princess has cruises that make two stops in Israel. They offer an overnight shore excursion to allow more time for sightseeing.
Rare cruisemom42 Posted October 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 14, 2009 First, be aware that the larger cruise ships don't include Israel on their itinerary because the intensive security screening process for passengers would take too long with several thousands passengers. So, you are looking at lines that use smaller (like 700 passenger) ships. Princess has a Holy Lands itinerary several times per year on one of its small ships. It's not offered that often. One itinerary sails from Athens and includes Santorini and Patmos, then Ephesus, 2 stops in Israel, 2 stops in Egypt, then to Italy (Sorrento and disembark in Rome). Some other lines with smaller ships might have similar itineraries -- like Azamara, HAL, or Oceania.
