US Cash or your room card will work.

Yes, HAL ship casinos use US dollars. You can pay cash each day for chips or can set up an account against a credit card.

You do not need to have cash on your person to play. Cash can be obtained thru a slot machine using your card. The Casino Host will show you how to do it. This will save you a 3% fee over an ATM or the Cage.

Cash in hand is the best way to gamble---you really don't want to "charge" your gambling expenses.

Westerdam and Eurodam slots were moving to cashless- you put cash in- the credit goes to your room card. It stores on that card and when you go to the next machine - you put as much as you want into a machine. If you want additional money - you can use your shipboard credit and then before the end of the trip you may choose to pay it any way you please - think if it is cash or check you make arrangements either before you get on or when you get on.
