Treven Posted October 25, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2009 Although shuttles aren't oferred, I've always been very pleased with the Renaissence. Restaurants are close by, and there's a Wallgreens right across the street for forgotten items. As has been mentioned, cabs are really inexpensive; & the Renaissence is only about a 5 minute ride to the port.

pennstateray Posted October 26, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted October 26, 2009 i have read that you are from the ft lauderdale area. what is your opinion of this hotel location etc? we would fly in in the pm and go to the ship the next morning as soon as we can board. previous experience with HAL has been early boarding. thanks again. ray
royalcruz Posted October 26, 2009 #6 Share Posted October 26, 2009 If you mean the LaQuinta in Hollywood, it is close to the airport and cruiseport (15 minutes) and you can walk to a few chain restaurants in Oakwood Plaza (I like the Hollywood Ale House). We normally get to the port at noon and if there are any lines, they are moving. This hotel caters to cruisers, so they have the complimentary shuttles.
