"LIVE" from Carnival Pride / Nov. 8, 2009

Thanks for the pictures radio. Absolutely beautiful. We won't be sailing until may but would you mind getting a picture for me please? We have a balcony room in the second inlet (jutting in thing) towards the aft of the ship on deck 6. Could you get a pic of that area please as I'd love to see just how much the lifeboats block the view etc. No rush to post it until after you arrive home as I understand the slower speed on the ship compared to a home connection. Thanks in advance but if you can't get it I totally understand as it can be tough getting the right side of the ship (unless you walk on water heehee). We are on the left/port/even side of the ship.

BBigfoot, I'm going to be on the Pride next week in right around that spot on the starboard side, but on Deck 7, not Deck 6. I'll try to remember to take a pic straight down over the balcony at some point during the week, and try to get it to you after I get back if Radio does not! Hopefully there isn't much difference between port and starboard.

Sounds like we will be on the same ship next week. I also am doing the Space Center tour. There are several versions offered on the KSC website. From what I could tell, the more extensive tour is only $30 more if purchased as a Carnival excursion. Since I am the only one in my group doing it, I thought it was easier just to go through the ship. You may be comparing one of the other packages from KSC against the more expensive Carnival offering.

Radio,

Thank you for the info on the food & service.

Just one more question, did you get that day pass for the British Colonial Hilton before you left (online?) or are you able to purchase it at the front desk?

I went there a few years ago and it was $20pp but no lunch voucher, yours sounds like a better deal.

Glad you and Mrs Radio are having great weather and a great time.

BTW, it looks like a duck to me :D

Good to know, EMess. In the meantime, I also went back to Mark's Pride Encyclopedia and found his info on the non-excursion option.

I guess I'll wait until I'm onboard before making my decision. Maybe I'll see you, maybe I won't! :)

Thanks for the consideration. Unfortunately the cabin I have is a tad different on the port side. I'm in 6232 which is one of the rare extended and extra long quads. If you can get a picture of it I'd be forever grateful. I have seen pictures FROM the balcony after doing a google search but really would like to see the side to have a comparrison to show the DW. Our extra long balcony wasn't comprehensible until we were there and saw it in person and I feel she's having the same problem. (and I really want to see just how much bigger it is myself) I know from the pictures I have seen from the google search it seams like it's big enough we could almost play football out there LOL!

Also i wanted to ask, where in central PA are you? I'm in Williamsport so I was curious.

I'm near Harrisburg. Much shorter drive to Baltimore than you, I'm afraid!

I will do what I can on the picture, but can't guarantee anything!

hi seaturtle& emess.

i'll also be on the pride next week, by next wk do you mean 11/15?

if thats the sailing you'll be on please stop by @ our informal meet & greet. we're getting together 12 noon @ the posiedon bar , aft bar on the lido deck, love to meet fellow cc!

we're renting a car in port canaveral from dollar 40.20 with the taxes, they pick you up @ the ship.used bj's rate code.if you need it let me know on the roll call page.

if radio can't answer your alternate transportation question, i'd suggest asking preston, on the florida destination board, his thread is .... "i work in port canaveral"..... he's been answering folks questions since 2006!!!

you could search his thread for the info or just ask him,he usually answers that day.

hope to see you @ the m&g

Hello everyone. . . We arrived back on the ship and heading to Baltimore. The sun came out today, which was nice. It was very windy though, and our temps rose up to about 73f. Everyone was happy to see that, because when we first stepped off of the ship, it was a little cold.(58f)

It appeared that about half of the ship went on some type of excursion today, but Mrs. Radio and I spent the day walking around and buying a few gifts from the vendors. There were about 30 different vendors in Freeport spread throughout the Terminal and Straw Market. I have to say that it seemed as if the vendors were very happy to see us. . . They were very friendly!

It appeared that there was room enough for about 12 other vendors, due to some vacancies (closed stalls) in the Terminal Area. We thought about renting a car ($50/day) or a scooter ($35/day) but decide just to stay close to the ship today.

Our ship left Freeport a little late today (at about 2:15PM) due to 2 caravans of passengers that were a little late getting back. I am assuming this was part of a ship excursion. The Discovery Sun arrived in Port by around Noon with several hundred passengers.

Tonight is the 2nd Cruise elegant night, and I am really looking forward to a portion (or 2) of the flourless Chocolate Cake !

Tonight will be a very busy night in the Casino, and I will try to lengthen by good luck in the Players Cub Casino tonight !The production show tonight is ”Vrooom”, and this was Mrs. Radio’s favorite show when we sailed on Carnival Miracle last October. There is a Happy Hour for Internet users today between 4-6PM that will allow a 50% credit on all time used between those hours. . .

Here are a few pics from today, I still have a lot of pics to post from many areas of the ship that I will try to post before we debark on Sunday ! Our cruise is not over yet ! We still have 2 more nights. . .

Thanks for tuning in !

Wishing you safe seas back to Baltimore. With this Noreaster I'm wondering if you're rocking N rolling right about now?

We hit the end two storms last october NYC to Bermuda and it was a mess for almost 30 straight hours on the way to BDA. Luckily we don't get sea sick ... Lots of others did.

You're in our thoughts here on cruise critic..

Your pictures are just fantastic . Enjoy seeing them.

Thanks for the nice comments. . . Yes, there is considerable rocking as we speak, it might get a little worse when we approach the Cape Hatteras area tomorrow.

No worries though. . . We have been trough rough seas, and never had a concern. I am sure other passengers may get a little uneasy.

Hi Radio,

I want to thank you for your wonderful "live" report! We sail on November 29 and I am more excited than ever! I wish you smooth sailing for the rest of your voyage. It's been quite blustery and rainy here (in VA) the past few days so I was wondering how the weather was for you....

This is the first time to cruise in November (we have only cruised in the spring and summer) so I wondering if it would be warm enough to swim in the pools/ocean. I'm sure my husband and son will be fine (they are always hot) but I'm not sure about me (since I am originally from FL)!

Love the sunrise pics,too!

Thanks again,

Pam

Hello Mr & Mrs Rockin Radio !!!!

I've been wondering how you guys are doing out there...

Are most people staying in their cabins at this point? What are the size of the swells being reported ? Or are they reporting?

I noticed on NCL their tv channel that has where your at, where you heading wind speed etc.. didn't have sea conditions. NCL is great for that.

Update us when you can.

No day off for me, I have to post more pics !

Hi Radio, Thank you for the review and pictures! We will be on the Pride in 21 days and I don't fully understand about the first night dining. Is it open seating or can you arrive at your scheduled time and sit at your assigned table? Thanks and have a safe return to Baltimore.
