How is the casino? We've not been on Jewel, only Brilliance/Radiance and Serenade. Serenade had lousy machine's.....very old. I'm not a big gambler, but I do like a little bit of fun in the casino after dinner!!

Any insider secret's I should know about....we leave three weeks on Monday. Can't wait.

I love the Radiance class ships.

You must have done the New England to Miami? I bet that was great.

Suz, Yes this was the Boston to Miami cruise. Was in the Casino nearly every day. Machines were tight although I did hit on the Video Poker twice for 250.00 and still wasn't ahead. (deuces wild)

I play only slots and video poker - no tables. Machines were a good mix old and new - wild cherry, double diamond are my favorite and both were there. You could choose your amount to play starting at .25 and up. Machines pay in quarters!!

Hint - should you hit - anyting OVER $250.00 is a hand pay - so don't cash out at $250.00 - you'll get all quarters.

You will need to insert your set sail card for your play to be tracked. There is a list of "prizes" posted at the cashier where you can redeem your points - some prizes were a free $5.00 drink, free $10.00 drink, T shirt, Polo (golf type) Shirt (800 points) $5.00 cash (300 points I believe), slot tournament entry etc.

Cards are a little hard to insert but it will read Welcome and your name when accepted. Bar service was a little weak. We had 2 non smoking evenings I believe on this voyage - 1 definately was on formal night.

Bruins, cruise director was Keith Williams. He was pretty good. Very visable, very friendly and approachable. Great sense of humor and did a talk type TV show shown in cabin with his activities manager (sorry can't remember his name but he ran the Bingo etc.)Enjoyed Keith very much.

The only thing I noticed in the Solarium was pizza and little sandwiches. Didn't go in there in the evening so couldn't tell you what was available then - sorry.

I see some friendly names here! What a great cruise this was and a great Dinner Table too!! We miss you all!

 

Heard from Bev, she made it home last night. Has another week before she can come back here though.

 

Our Fridge worked pretty well in our OV. Did miss the Crepes though.

Wasn't the Seaview Cafe the best - think I liked it better than Johnny Rockets!

Cookies - buffet in WJ has them but pass on that and go up to the coffee bar - Lattitudes? - You will find they have the best cookies there :D

While we did buy coffees on several occassions, DH went up late afternoon and brought cookies down to the pool without purchasing a coffee so I am going to assume you do not have to buy a drink.

What type stateroom did you have? Also, do you remember if the TV sets had input jacks on the front? Thanks.

We had a D1 balcony cabin on the hump. No input jacks on the front of the TV and I'm not sure that there were any on the rear of the set either.
