SnootieTootie Posted November 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2009 We just returned from B2B cruises on the Sky. Interior stateroom on deck 10 We had a wonderful time. Missed Great Stirrup both cruises due to swells Latitudes Update: contrary to previous reports, we did receive some Latitudes perks as plat's which included: Ship pins were in our room Invitations from Virginia the concierge to the Captains cocktail party for both cruises Invitation to LeBistro at an assisned time (6:30 Thurday evening) In the past it has been the date and time of our choosing. We were told that we were being extended the LeBistro invite due to being Plat and cruising B2B No fruit, no wine, but who cares? Embarkation was weird. When we asked if there was priority embarkation, a gentleman checked the list, and then told us to get in any line. but when we got in the normal line, and began the check in proceedure, the gentleman could not find our keys, and wrote VIP on our paperwork, and escorted us to a room where Virginia the concierge gave us our keps and greeted us. We have no complaints, it was a fabulous week! Oops, forgot one change, no chocolates on the pillow any more, but we never ate them anyway, so that's ok. hannibal54 Posted November 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2009 We sailed on the Sky in September, my second NCL cruise, my GF's first. We both got pins in the cabin.
SnootieTootie Posted November 14, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted November 14, 2009 My parents are gold, and did not receive the pins in their cabin. They even had the same cabin steward as us. Seems as though all perks are very random. As gold, they did not receive the Captain's cocktail party invitation, nor the LeBistro invitation, nor the priority check in.
familyof4cruising Posted November 14, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2009 Was Le Bistro complimentary? It wasn't for us in October... Virginia is WONDERFUL!
SnootieTootie Posted November 14, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted November 14, 2009 Yes, LeBistro was free. We really did not expect to receive it this time. W were told that it was only because we were going B2B. I believe the LeBistro invitation was signed by Jorge, the cruise consultant. it was a little strange to receive an invitation with an assigned time, but it worked out for us just fine. We love Virginia. Contrary to what was reported here, she has not married. Her groom to be is living in Canada, and is no longer an NCL employee. Virginia is leaving the ship March 15, 2010. She didn't say, but from what I gathered, she will not be returning. We hope to again sail the Sky befoe she leaves.

You were given special treatment because of taking back-to-back cruises as a Platinum member. Essentially NCL looked at the two cruises as a single 7 day cruise. By the way, Gold members do not get a free dinner in LeBistro regardless of the cruise length. It is a Platinum perk. The pins were officially discontinued, but some ships still have small supply they may give out to VIPs.

Rare sparks1093 Posted November 15, 2009 #11 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Yep, I am very aware of all of the above. Then why did you start your post "contrary to previous reports"? If someone made one of those previous reports they could take it to mean that you are calling their report inaccurate or a lie, which some could take as a major insult in this two dimensional world. njhorseman Posted November 15, 2009 #12 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Yep, I am very aware of all of the above. Then why did you question why your parents (Gold, not Platinum members) did not get the free LeBistro dinner as well as other perks you got? You called the perks "very random" because your parents didn't get them. My point was they are not random...the difference was you are Platinum and they are Gold. SnootieTootie Posted November 15, 2009 Author #13 Share Posted November 15, 2009 I was just stating that they did not receive any of the perks that we received. Nada, nothing. If you re-read my original post, you will read that we expected to receive NO perks, and we know that we received LeBistro only because of B2B so why the need to restate it? No slam intended. I was speaking only of Virginia and her nuptuals. I congratulated her on her marraige, and she told us that a few passengers have congratulated her based on what has been said here at Cruise Critic. But, she indeed had not married. She experienced some problems with the amount of time that she had off of work, and it was not suffiecient time for her and her beau to get the neccesary paperwork.
